A friend of mine just told me that it's official, LNTs filed bankruptcy this morning! They are closing 120 stores.

I wonder if they'll have a liquidation sale?

Thanks for the info.. I am stopping today for drapery rods. They had a 50% sale, and the inventory is low. I don't think I should wait on this -especially since I found one I want. I was wondering why the inventory in other departments seemed low!

First for me too! I don't shop there much anyway as I find their stores so crowded and overwhelming. But If i'm looking for something specific, they are great. Too bad for them.

They fired Chapter 11 which is bankruptcy protection so that they have time to reorganize and get back on their feet.

The will close 120 stores out of 589.

There are only two classes - first class and no class

Tho I tend to venture to their competitor BB&B simply because the drive isn't quite as long and they're in a sales tax free state, I have found things at LNT that BB&B didn't stock. I hope they can regroup and thrive. Hate to see any place carrying housewares fold let alone ones that offer coupons.

I hope our store doesn't close. It is in a new shopping center with World Market, and our World Market is closing Frown We got a few new stores in the last year and now they are leaving? That is sad news.

I was just at our local store the other day and bought some bedding - their inventory was fully stocked and the store looked great.

lenie, our nearby World Market closed too and I was/am so bummed. It was in a plaza in DE and that meant no sales tax. I asked where the nearest one will be for me and they said MD. With gas prices out the wazoo I'll not see that one any time soon. Let's face it, the good die young even in retail terms. Frown

Darn it. The one closest to me (an hour's drive) is closing. The next nearest location is a 2 hour drive. I guess BB& B will be getting more of my business.

I have never been to a LNT, but this doesn't surprise me because there are just so MANY stores out there that sell similar things. Something has to give !! We are getting a Target in our area soon. I love Target, but I would bet that it will put an end to our K-Mart.I will miss it because it keeps me from having to go to Walmart. Our area does not have enough workers to staff these stores either. It is then so sad to see those big empty buildings!! Frown
