I am just about done with my laundry room. You will have to excuse the mess in the before and after pictures. We moved our pantry over because you could not open the door to go outside. I have a huge washer and dryer and they blocked the door going out. I really wanted the door because now the kids can come straight into the laundry room from the pool instead of walking on my hardwood floors.

The washer and dryer are not center with the upper cabinets but that is ok.

Excuse the mess. Hubby still has to reattach the baseboard. I was happy though because I got to paint behind the washer and dryer.

I also want hubby to put crown moulding on the cabinets. He keeps telling me that it is the laundry room, who cares, I do. We will be getting crown moulding that matches the kitchen for the laundry room.

last picture, I am so happy with how the cabinets turned out. I started last night on the first 6 doors of the kitchen. I also am almost done with the half bath cabinet.

Great job! But be careful with your cabinets for a week or so; even though they may feel dry to the touch, they take a little longer to "harden". Much less chance of an accidental chip.

You may have already known this though.

One thing I do notice is probably a personal choice. I only notice because I have the exact same hardware on my kitchen and bath cabinets. At first DH installed them like you have them with a space btw the pull and the door. However, I believe they are supposed to be flush w/ the cabinet. What we ended up doing is drilling so that we could mount them flush. But, If you like them that way, then that is perfectly okay too. Just thought you'd want to know since I struggled with the same thing. But hey, I could be wrong. Here is a pic of mine...not a good angle, but you can see they are flush.

I love the white cabinets...so clean looking!

I shouldn't have opened this thread...now I am getting a severe case of Laundry Room Envy...it all looks great!

Many times to make life easier.. the screws included have a break off joint.. has to do with different overlay techniques ( do I sound like I know what I'm talking about???) that way they can be countersunk from the inside ad fit snug... experience speaks!!!


It looks really nice... who says laundry rooms can't be pretty... we could meet there for coffee!!!

I noticed this weekend we were in the mud/ laundry/flex room more than the living room...

melk, you are so right about the pulls needing to be flush. I was way to impatient waiting for hubby to make the hole bigger and I went ahead and put them on. He is going to "fix" them this weekend.

It looks great Laura! I did a similar re-do to my laundry room earlier this year. Just keep after DH, or else learn to do it yourself, those are the two things I've learned from many years of experience! Sometimes the second can be much less frustrating...
