So, I tried to attach a URL but failed...what's up?

Backstory: the house we purchased last year was used in a movie production several years ago. We did not know this until after we made the offer, it was accepted and nearly closed. You'd think it would have been a major selling point, right? Not so much...the movie is a piece of trash, but I digress. Story goes that the family signed on without knowing the subject of the movie, and while the DD's of the PO knew, they refrained from telling MOM. When she found out sometime later, she had a health crisis which eventually placed her in a nursing home where she passed away. This is the story I've been told by not only the neighbors (who were there), but by the DD's, so I know it's true.

Neighbor comes to the door last night to inform us that the movie had finally been released (5 years later...it was that bad) and was going to be showing at a nearby theater. I went to the website and watched the trailer, and there it is, MY HOUSE! What a thrill. I tried to attach the URL but could not. I would never pay money to see the movie because it really is pure trash, but what a very cool thing to know my house is in a movie for all the world to see. Well, I sincerely hope no one ever connects it to us, of course, but there it is.

If you happen to be interested in watching it, google the Brighton Cinema 20, Brighton Mi. and click on "High School". Be warned, the thing is garbage so turn down the volume, but the little gray house is mine.

ETA: In case you decide to check it out...yes, they did throw a fridge through the front window...it was movie magic...they replaced the glass with fake stuff.

ETA: Here Ya go...thanks Mary Ruth!

Belstone,
You can just post the link and it will work when we click on it. I had to do that once I realized that the feature didn't work on this board after the changes were recently made.

How COOL to have your house in a movie! What is good about watching the trailer, you can stop the action and clip the photos of your house!

Thanks Annie! You caught it just as the fridge is going through! LOL.

We've made a few changes, but I don't have pix yet.

Annie! How did you put that pic in your post? I've tried, but can't figure it out. Help, please.

I don't know what a snipping tool is...I've tried cutting and pasting...and I still don't know how you included it in your post. Cut and Paste doesn't work.

It is a very cute house Belstone! The right side reminds me of Bella' s new house.

Can you post pics you took of the house?

If you have Internet Explorer and go to start you should have a snipping tool in your accessories. Once you make a copy of the pic you want and give it a name it goes into your picture file.

To add it to your post you just hit "add attachment" pick out the pic and hit "post
now" as you would with any other post.

I'm not very skilled at this. I'm hoping someone else will jump in and explain it better.

Thanks, Emily. I'm at work, so I don't have pix, but I have posted a couple of the exterior before. And yes, I've mentioned that it looks a lot like Bella's, too! She hasn't picked up on it yet...

Sorry, I should have said the snipping tool is part of windows, not part of IE.

Actually, if you have really low expectations, the movie might be kind of funny. Tom Hank's son, Colin, has some of his father's mannerisms, doesn't he?

Very cute house Belstone. TFS altho that trailer was difficult to watch! LOL

Here are instructions on how to take a screenshot on w/microsoft windows: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-...in-Microsoft-Windows

I have a Mac so it's different and here are the instructions for Mac users: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Mac-OS-X

I usually save the full screen then crop the pic from the full screen. This way I don't have that resume arrow in the center of the pic. Here's your house in the night scene. Love to see how you've changed the house since you purchased.

ETA - for Mac users the pic after cropping will be in PNG format which I don't believe will post to this MB so I just resave as a JPEG to post.

Your house is beautiful Belstone, and how fun to have it in a movie.

The movie looks absolutely juvenile and ridiculous. Seriously, with all the talent in Hollywood you would think someone could come up with a better story line than slapstick d.ru.gs in High School with nu.dit.y and swearing added in.

Even so, what a fun and unusual thing to have your house in a movie.

When the movie hits the 4.99 (or less) discount bin I would grab a copy for posterity. I bet your great grandchildren will think the movie is hysterical because of it's trite silly script, and it will still be so fun to see the house!

Such a cute house! That movie looks Terrrrrrrible! I am a high school teacher, and I really have to say that high school kids do not act like that. Geeze.

Were the interior shots in your house too? Did the woman have a health crisis after she saw the movie? Did the movie, cause her health crisis, I mean?

I am shocked Tom Hanks' son was in that. I thought he was an up and coming actor that might be more, well, selective in his acting roles. Money talks I guess.

Some of the interiors are in my house...that's definitely the front door that came with...since replaced...and the fireplace wall might be mine, but the kitchen and hallway shots are not.

To answer the question about the PO's health crisis...as I understand it, she was told the movie was about something else (not drugs) and when told what it was really about, was very, very upset and ashamed and soon after had the crisis. To my knowledge, she never actually saw the movie. Her DD's have attributed the crisis to the movie, though. It's sad.

ETA: Forgot to mention this...traffic down our street has picked up considerably! Lots of slow moving cars with faces pressed against the windows. LOL
