Just thought I would put this on a separate thread... Here's how you make frothy bubbles for your toddlers to clean with...
About a cup of water and 1 T of dish detergent. Something gentle of course. I use Dawn. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jovtfam4, |

Then beat the mixture up with a beater or emersion blender until they are thick and frothy like home made whipped cream. Add a little water if it doesn't seem to be making enough. Make sure you get lots of air mixed in by lifting the blender part way out as you mix.

Endless fun... Don't forget to wipe down anything they "cleaned" after with a damp cloth. Yes in the picture they are cleaning my maple Bellawood floors. There is so little water it doesn't hurt a thing. They love cleaning our windows and cabinet doors as well. Sometimes they get into the bath tub (when it's empty) and clean the walls in there. They love it.
I can't take credit for this. My mom taught me this, and her mom taught her, and her mom taught her. My grandmother (now 82) used to do this when she was a little girl. She also used the bubbles as "whipped cream" for mudpies outside! |

What a fun post! Although my own children are pretty much grown, I am a new Grandma, so I will have to remember this!
