Okay, who's up first ?
Finally I have something-just found this on e-bay. have been looking for something I like that fits a space on LR wall. It is a vintage oil painting was buy it now for $115.00 or make offer. At the last few hours I offered $80.00 and got it.
I think I am insanely jealous!! No, I know I am. Lovely
Homebody,Very pretty picture.I like it too.
I bought this Queen bed from sis' yesterday.125.00,beautiful & very heavy. This sister buys nice furniture and then gets a new boyfriend, moves in with him, sells her stuff. She calls me 1st,this is the 2nd one I've bought from her...LOL.I get good deals from her.Now to clean out the spare bedroom -DH cumputer room and paint and put this beautiful bed in there.Only grandbabies sleep in there.
I thought of Medlin when I saw the bed.It reminds me of the bed in the picture you posted. If you lived closer I'd sell it to you.
This is sis' pic from her phone. It's sitting in my garage right now.Later this week I'll take a better picture. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jackierenette,
Homebody, very pretty picture! Sounds like your patience paid off. Great that you already have a spot in mind for it.
Jackie, your post made me laugh! Beautiful bed and that is an amazing price.
Homebody, congratulations on your bargain! I had a good weekend on eBay, too, as a seller listed four charger plates at a very good price with a Buy It Now option while I was checking searches Sunday morning. I jumped on them and they were shipped this morning. Now, I have to wait and hope that they arrive unbroken.
Jackierenette, what a great bed and at a great price. How nice that your sister gives you first choice.
Gracie, good for you!!! I hope your chargers arrive in good shape. Curious......what color are they ?
Red and green plaid to use at Christmas time. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Graciepj,
Well -- this is a stretch for a MMF -- but I was searching Craigslist and found this cute listing.
Goat coats and Lamb Pajamas $15
OK - too cute but someone has waaaaaaayyyyyy too much time on their hands...
(but he is cute and I would have a very hard time NOT bringing him home, I must say).
Homebody, nice picture.
Jackie, beautiful bed, and very convenient that your Sis offers you first dibs, LOL
I found a Lea small chest and hutch top for $32.
It is a kind of pale peach/fleshy color right now. I plan on painting it white, but it is in the garage and it has been too chilly out there to work on it yet.
I had to take 2 pictures because I couldn't get it into one frame.
Here is the hutch top:
Here is the dresser bottom.
It will be in my guest room when I get it painted.
I also found a rabbit soup tureen for $5
I am using it on my tea cart in an Easter vignette.
It had the ladle and no chips or cracks, so I thought it would be perfect for Easter decor.

Oh my I need a set of PJ's for my Jack Russel. She freezes to de*th,she has her blanket she covers up under.LOL.But these would be so cute on her.
Christmas Candy,Love this piece.Beautiful.This will be a great addition to your home. One thing thou, the knobs on the top drawer,I wonder why their not in the center.??But I like it anyway.Great deal too. Please make sure you repost B4 & afters.
And the soup tureen is adorable. That is something I dont have.I need to find me one. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jackierenette,
Jackie -- they actually had a pic of a little dog in the pj's too. Take a look:
Gracie, I LOVE plaid. They sound perfect for Christmas, lucky you!
My Live Vacation, that is sooo funny! Who in the world would even think to make goat and lamb clothiers? Maybe they like high fashion
Wow Christmas Candy....$32? That's quite a deal. It's very pretty and look at all that fun display area you'll have. Cute lil rabbit and perfect for Easter.
Jackie, my mom has a Jack Russel and he does the same thing. He flips the blanket with his nose until he's completely buried.
Thanks, Skyler. I've been haunting eBay for two years to find the chargers at an affordable price. Replacements has them, but at three times what I paid. I'm so jazzed to find four at one time!
Oh, my, those animals in pajamas are hysterical. My friend's little dogs wear sweaters all winter because they are cold. They fight you when you want to take the sweaters off to wash them. It's so cute.
Candy, once again you've proven to be an ace bargain finder. I'm looking forward to seeing the after version. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Graciepj,
We found a COW HIDE for $180. It was at a rodeo we went to over the weekend. For those who know about cow hides: this is a 3-color brindle in a light color. It is Brazilian and very high quality. It was a steal at this price! The guy was packing up to go home and wanted to sell items so he didn't have so much to pack up. Our friends bought one too.
Its final location will not be the living room. I just threw it down there for now.
"Worms Eat My Garbage"
Thanks again for posting this thread for us!
I have been busy and worn out, I am posting a photo of my latest fashion accessories in basic black! LOL
I have an ankle injury that is stubborn in healing and this should help me to get it through to a full recovery. Not a major injury just residual slow healing one.
I am sore all over from walking differently and stressing parts of my body not used to the added weight and strain. But I am ON THE MEND!
Nice picture and I am glad you were able to get the bid! Very NICE!
Wow what a great bed! And you stole that! What style and I love the lines on it!
Congrats on your charger plate purchase!
OH that means nice tablescape photos from your setting this next Christmas!
CUTE!... how special is that!
what a GREAT buy! chest AND top for that? Really nice pieces!
Bunny soup tureen! My grandmother would have liked to serve her rabbit stew in that!
I am envious of your GREAT hide purchase! And you got a great DEAL too!
OF what I HAD to find this week:
Boot for my ankle, the doctor recommended this for me since the brace I got 6 weeks ago hurt more than it helped... so this boot and a cortisone shot aught to help me this next month. I can't use crutches (2 bad shoulders, elbows...and left wrist thus the carpal tunnel braces) but the cane can really only be used to keep me steady. I am having a tough time getting around... and I was wiped out most of today... tomorrow should be better...
Can't believe I will be having Cataract surgery and THIS going on the same time, and possibly dentist since I lost a piece of my front tooth the other day.
I stayed in fashion with classic black accessories I had to get!

DaciaB, How cool to find such a bargain on an item you've wanted.
Mary Ruth, I'm so sorry that you are struggling. I tore a calf muscle at the beginning of December, then re-injured it at the beginning of January. I didn't have to wear accessories as stylish as yours..., but it was tough to limit my activities until the tear healed so I understand your frustration.
Thanks for sharing that with me! I know this is not serious, but a PITN! LOL
Oh my that must have been painful for you!
I only posted this because those parts were my 'find' of the week! LOL AND I didn't ever get to go view the CL listing I wanted to go and view! So, I am sure I lost out on that... it was two bar stools I thought might fit into my Den (the bar is in the opening over the sink from kitchen to Den). This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,
Darn! I'm sorry you missed the CL stools. I hope some that will work even better for you come along.
I am not worried, I have that attitude that IF it was meant to be they would be mine! And things always come around again for me... If I wait long enough... I find something!
Great attitude to have!
Skyler my Jack russell does that too.Flips all the cover on her.She buries herself. It is funny to watch.
MaryRuth,Get well soon.
Deciab,I like the cowhide rug.
Gracie,I would love to find some plaid chargers too.Congrats on those!!
Here is a better pic of bed I took today.I'm slowly cleaning out spare room to paint it.Sold old bed & frame today.I so want to put this bed up.
True story of sister too.LOL...This message has been edited. Last edited by: jackierenette,
Great finds everyone.
MR...sorry about your injury. Get well soon!
Me..well I had a two week *working* vacation at my dd's in Texas. We did get to go to Canton, Tx First Monday Market, and also my first trip to IKEA.
Several finds which I will try to post next week.
Oooh, CaraRose, I can't wait to see what you found.
As for my chargers, they arrived today...broken. I am so disappointed. I think I'm cursed as this is the second time I've bought some of this pattern only to have it arrive smashed. The seller packed it pretty well, too. I don't know what the heck the post office is doing with packages these days.
Graciepj,Oh I am so sorry for you.I know you must be mad & sad too.You might can use these broken pieces in some way.I'll keep my fingers crossed you get some not broken.
I knew a guys that worked at UPS & Fedex,I saw how the boxes was packed in the trucks.Heavy things sitting on top of stuuf we had delivered to the store I worked at.The companys have workers that pack the trucks. They guys said they had no part in it.
Thanks for the commiseration, Jackierenette. I know that broken plates aren't as serious as world hunger, but I was so excited to find the plates at a price I could afford and it was such a letdown for them to arrive broken.
Graciepj, I'm sure you're disappointed but PLEASE post a picture of the chargers you're looking for.
I can't help haunting yard sales, etc. and love to have something to search for! You never know.
And you can PM their price so I know what range we're at.
MR -- sorry about all your troubles -- it's no fun to be "laid up" and not up to 100%. But do take care and don't overdo -- rest when you're tired.
That is really a BEAUTIFUL BED! WOW, wonderful photo and LOVE the detail and woodgrain!
Thank you for well wishes!
Thanks hon for the well wishes!
First trip to IKEA, I want to hear all about your experiences!
I am so sorry to hear about your broken chargers! I have ordered posters in a tube and had it delivered twisted and a huge gash in it! I guess they just handle everthing as if it is indestructable, you know 'the toss method' or the 'drive over it' to see if can take it method! LOL
It sure is a letdown to receive something damaged through the mail... we wait in anticipation for it, so it is a big let down!
I love how they deliver too (post office)... drop package bang on the door once (even though we have a doorbell) and RUN as fast as he can back to the truck and steps on it!
Thank you very, very much for your offer. I'll send you a PM.
My postal carrier doesn't even knock. I think he tiptoes so that I don't hear him. The UPS guy, on the other hand, gives the door a little tap that I would never hear if I weren't standing right by the door. As you say, there's a doorbell right there, but they never use it. I have to laugh.
Homebody, great buy on your painting.
Jackirenette, I wish my sister bought nice stuff like yours! That is great for a queen size headboard and footboard. We were recently shopping for a bed and $400 was the poorly made ones. The one we saw in the magazine and drove to look at was $4500! We've been married 17 years. We still have no bed. Just a mattress on a frame. <-- Just saw the updated photo - I'm even more jealous now. Beautiful bed!
Graciepj, congrats on your chargers. I've never used any and admire beautiful tables set with chargers and all the fixings. <-- Shoot I just saw they arrived broken! I hope they were sent insured. Darn it!
MyLifeVacation - too funny!
Christmas Candy - White will be great on your pieces. Be sure to stop back and do a before and after post. Those are my favorite on HGTV MB.
Mary Ruth, I pray that you have a speedy recovery.
Gracie -- I hate that about your chargers. Drat! And I hope they were insured and you get your money back! Which would mean you're back at square one! They'll come your way -- be patient!
Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
My spirits are better today, not so tired, but then it is only 10:20 AM! LOL
Thanks, Martha. They were insured and the seller is sending me the insurance receipt so that I can make the claim. I just hope the post office doesn't give me any trouble with the claim.
Mary Ruth, I'm glad you are feeling a little better today.
Daciab, after 17 years...Go get you both a nice sturdy beautiful bed.It sure does make a difference in sleeping too.It will transform your room.Even if you & DH made a beautiful bed.Out of plywood,4x4's,trim moulding and porch/deck knobs. Then stain or paint it.I know you have some skills lady.I've saw your DIY projects.LOL.
Look at some thrift stores too,you can find some deals sometimes.Look on Craigs list too.
I know they are very high priced.I have had 1 bed a Queen sleigh bed I bought years ago. When we bought the bedroom suit from sis 3 years ago.I passed down mine to DD#1.This one is going in spare bedroom for guest and grandbabies.
This sis buys beautiful bedroom suits. But her 5 marriages & relationships dont last long.I tell her to keep her furniture,it would last longer.LOL.
Gracie, I am very sorry to hear about your chargers!!! I wish you the best with the PO!!! My DD got married in November, went on their honeymoon, had their mail held for the week....and the mail has never been seen!!!!
The PO does not know what happened to it , and they do not care. My DD's birthday was that same week, so her birthday cards ( some containing gift cards) and most likely wedding cards ,disappeared.
OMG... just disappeared? I hope she contacted ALL who may have sent something and put in their claims...
That's horrible! You just know someone saw all the cards and stole the mail to get the possible gifts. I recently read one of those how to protect yourself from theft and fraud stories and it said to never hold your mail, but have someone pick it up daily. I guess that works if you know someone who lives near you and could do it, but I don't so I have all of my mail held for almost a month during December.
Yes, they contacted everyone possible. It was sent to "the office of the inspector general". But, nothing more has happened. The PO has never called them without my DD calling first.
They live in center city Philadelphia in an apartment building. Their mailbox is locked, and it is inside a locked building.( The mailman has keys). Nothing more will be done....no explanation, no apologies! I find it incredible!
Well, not sure if this would really be considered a MMF but I bought it and it's now set up in my yard:
Charcoalsmom -- how neat!!! Love it!
Wonderful! I am not sure what state you live in.. but here in Florida we don't really need one, in Virginia, though we thought of getting a small one like this to start our plants in.
You will enjoy setting that up and starting your seedlings in it! Great for wind protection too. I have heard that the old Christmas lights (the larger bulbs) actually provide enough heat for a small space to prevent frost damage to delicate plants when the temp drops during the night. A blanket over it as well will keep that warmth in, that means you can get started on your seedlings earlier!
Good luck with your garden, and ENJOY!
You know, it takes so little effort for a person dealing with a problem to say something like, "I'm sorry this happened." Even if they can't do anything more, a little sympathy and caring go a long way toward soothing frustration. I don't understand why that's not the number one rule of customer relations training.
Charcoalsmom, that is the cleverest idea. Thanks for sharing it. I didn't even know such a thing existed.
A little off topic but I recently sent an express mail item to a customer of mine. The express mail was scanned as delivered but wasn't really delivered and it also shows that the item is currently sitting in a completely different city. Yet, the post office will not refund my express mail purchase. The postal guy was adamant that the package was delivered in time. Even though it is sitting in a different city after the supposed delivery.
Add me to the post office bandwagon: While on an extended trip to Florida I did an online temporary change of address. Even though I was not leaving Fla. until Feb. 27, I had the ending date of the change of address Feb. 20. When I got home on Feb. 28 I expected to see mail in my box but it was empty. Next day I should have received the elec/water bill. It is ALWAYS in the box on the first day of the month.
So I called the post office -- the supervisor was not in, left two messages for a return call. It never came. On Mar. 2 I "caught" the mailman. He covered his butt and said changes take up to 10 day to take effect. Huh? That makes no sense.
On Monday, March 4th I started getting mail. So, I have lost 10 days of mail. It will eventually show up -- probably June. But still -- I trusted them to do their part right. Guess I was wrong.
So sorry to hijack this thread!!!! I guess we could start a whole discussion of PO horror stories!!!! I hope MLV and Char get your issues resolved!!!
