Happy Monday everyone. If you're a football fan, I hope your team won. If not, at least I hope you enjoyed some snacks and the commercials Smile

Let's get down to business....please share pictures or tell us about any recent or favorite treasures. Goodies may be old or new and we always love to hear prices.

No shopping for me so I'll just admire all of yours.

Let's play!

I haven't found any new decor items recently, but I did discover a movie that's fun. It's called Pitch Perfect and it's a lighthearted look at college a cappella singing. It's a sweet, shallow guilty pleasure type of movie and the soundtrack will stay in your head for days.

Gracie - agree. I hope to get it when it comes out. Another good one is Parental Guidance. I laughed and I cried and then I laughed some more. Both of these I thought a lot better than Les Miserables. At least I could understand what they were saying... Smile

Thanks for the recommendation, Nance425. I'll have to look for that one.

Hmmmm, I think everyone is in a food coma from yesterday's festivities Smile

Gracie, I haven't heard of that one but am always looking for a good movie. Thanks for the suggestion.

You're welcome Strings, I have fun doing it!

Oh goodness Limb, that does sound like quite the project. I bet you'll be glad when it's over.

Cara, yay! We'll be here Smile

Thanks nance, maybe I'll check that one out too.

I found a small mug tree for the counter and a two gallon crock. The mug tree fits perfect next to the coffee maker and the crock is now the "caddy" for my hairdryer, flat iron, curling iron, and hot air brush. It was just the right size to hold all that clutter and I don't need to worry about hot items sitting out. Had to scrub it for 30 minutes to get the gunk off, but could not have found a better container for that stuff!

picture of the crock - just for the heck of it (like you all want to see my hairdryers, right? Wink )

Gracie,
I have seen the movie sometime back, and it is nice.

out on a limb,
I have been there! Hang in there... this too shall pass!

CaraRose,
Can't wait to see your photos!

junk collector,
Nice crock!

I did find something this week:
a Japanese porcelain dish with Pewter rim. I paid $10 for it on Craigslist. I saw it on CL a couple of weeks ago and saved the link. Every now and then I check my saved links to see which is still active. I saw the dish again and thought I still like it, so I called, went to see it (seller near my house) and bought it. It is very heavy and beautiful IRL.
It is Japanese Porcelain Ware Plate Decorated in Hong Kong Pewter Rim Vintage China. I found some on etsy and eBay for over $20 so I think I did OK on price.
This dish is 1 3/4" high off the table like a soup bowl, and is 8" across in width. It matches the deep blues in my plates so I am now looking forward to decorating my table with blue and white as a choice for tablescape.
I will not use this bowl for serving food, but for putting some fruit on it on the island to match the B&W tablesetting when I do that style.

Junk Collector, that must be a huge crock to hold all of your styling devices. BTW, did you see the Electrolux link regarding how to care for your new accessories that I posted on your thread over in the Food & Entertaining Forum? http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/for...4011632/m/5913905767

Mary Ruth, that's a lovely blue and white dish and I like the pewter rim.

It's very foggy here this morning and I happened to notice that some doves were resting in my courtyard. They didn't even twitch when I took their picture. The fuzziness in the photo is the fog.

Last week I bought all of $6.25 of stuff from an estate sale. I bought this 14 inch plaster owl for 75 cents. I am in FL now but will take it home with me to OH in a few weeks. I am trying to convert my living room to lighter colors and I have a lot of nature items in the room so will try this little guy out in there. If it does not work will sell at yard sale in late April. The before version is on the left, after on the right.

I love doves and their cooing.

junk collector, great use for your crock. It's always nice to find something you can put to good use.

Mary Ruth, that's so pretty. I love the design and the pewter rim is a special touch. It will look great as part of a blue/white tables cape.

Wow Gracie, I had to take a double take because I thought those doves were fake. It really IS foggy there. We throw "dove candy" out to the doves here and I love watching them gobble it up.

My Life Vacation, nice looking owl and I like the new look. Nice price too.

jc~ love the crock. Nice use of it. I had a large one that I put on the porch one Christmas with a real tree in it and got the idea I had to water the umm tree. Well guess what, it got too cold, the water froze and cracked the crock. LOL

MR!Pretty plate. Y'all got me wanting some blue and white plates for a table scape.

Gracie~ the doves are lovely. They make the sweetest cooing sound. Are those mourning doves?

MLV~ owls are all the rage right now. You scored.

And my find for the week...

Gracie,
Aw what a cute photo! When I was in Nova Scotia the fog was a constant friend... made things look dreamy, mysterious and restful.

MLV,
You are FAST already converting your Owl find!
Love the transformation!

Skyler,
Thanks, wait till you see what I just got today! Waiting for next MMF's!

CaraRose,
I LOVE that terrarium! I love those! What a great FIND!

Thanks MR. I loved it also and the price was perfect. I got it at HL for a great price, reduced on clearance and marked down again because one of the panes of glass had a small chip in it. Easy enough fixed.

The plants in side aren't real, got those at thrift shop. I believe they came from Pottery Barn or Ballard Design.

MyLifeVacation1, I like your transformation of your owl. Nice update.

CaraRose, I love terrariums and yours looks like it will be fun to decorate. I think you are right that the doves are mourning doves as they make that ker-choo call.

MaryRuth, now I'm really anticipating the next MMF to see your newest discovery. Are you sure you don't want to show it to us now? LOL!
