I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm going to ask again. In the past, all stainless appliance I saw were a fingerprint and smudge magnet. I talked with the appliance lady last week and she said that most newer models are much better at hiding those smudges and stay clean looking longer.

IS THIS TRUE? Or do they still take a lot to keep clean?

My GE Profile stainless refrigerator is very easy to maintain. It does not show fingerprints.

I have a stainless dishwasher, microwave and oven. The microwave gets the most fingerprints, but it only takes a swipe with a damp cloth (or my shirt sleeve Smile) to remove the smudges.

Wow - You are so good for remembering. Yes, I do, although my oldest is now in college but he's still living at home for the next year.

Our stove has stainless on the front. A quick wipe with WD-40 on a paper towel (no special wipes) and its just like new.

Good luck on your choices!

We came to our usual winter condo to be thrilled by a beautiful new kitchen. Until.... we had been here two days. New Maytag stainless appliances perform wonderfully but show every touch. Now, I will go to my home and be happy with my not quite trendy white appliances.

The stainless i have is easy maintenance and no finger prints. I just wipe it down with stainless steel cleaner and it looks refreshed again. I'm not sure what type stainless steel the front is, but it is not magnetic so i am not able to cover the front with magnets and papers, which is probably a good thing. Smile

Be careful to check on those "clean steel" or no fingerprint finishes. Some are NOT real stainless steel and are coatings that wear or scratch off. Bring a magnet with you, if it sticks to it, it not stainless steel.

I just got a new S/S fridge and it does show fingerprints. The GE installer suggested I get these Weimans S/S wipes and boy do they work great!

My dd just got all new SS appliances in her kitchen. They are textured so they do not show finger prints. I think the newer ones are easier to keep clean...And she has three little girlies...
