Hi all,
I need some help!! Trying to find nightstands for the master bedroom... The bedframe is a solid wood in a golden honey color - I've been unsuccessful in trying to find a matching wood nightstand so am now trying to think what contrast colour/material would look good. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/thoughts?
Thanks so much!
Hels

Round table with a cloth to the floor works until you can find what you want. You can make your own. I have seen some made from a trash can with a wooden circle on top so that the interior can be used for storage. Something that you don't need to get to very often. Also can be a small chest with a cloth to hide the chest.

Stacked vintage suitcases. Shelves. A painted piece instead of trying to match the wood. I am sure that you will get some good ideas.

If you have white trim in your room you can go with any nightstands and paint white. I would check Craigslist and local consignment shops since paying for brand new only to paint might not be penny wise.

Otherwise you can look for light color wood endtables almost anywhere, Oak and Maple are used a lot with honey stain.

Good luck in your hunt for nightstands, and I hope you can post a photo when you find them! Or if you find something on Craigslist, as some members do here, they post the photos off CL to ask our opinions.

WELCOME to the boards!

Welcome. Much depends on the style of furniture you have thus far, but as has been pointed out, matching wood pieces is not a must. In fact, mixing is much more interesting and less predictable. You can even think outside the box where nightstands are concerned. The stacked suitcase suggestion is a fine example. Others might be a desk, chest or vanity. Even a chair can serve the purpose you intend. Other possible candidates are step ladders, stools, cubes, nesting tables, garden tables, floating shelves, short bookcases, iron pieces like birdbaths w/ round glass toppers. Factor in your style of decor as well as the feel you wish to evoke.

This is the night stand in our guest room. I used an old metal typing table because side ways it just fit the space available.

The skirt is made out of Canvas and I sewed a border on it. The next night table will belong to new house owners as I will never change this.
