My HGTV mag is expiring and I'm not sure I will renew. The covers are beautiful but I can't remember one room which makes me think I wasn't very inspired.

Anyone like Cottages and Bungalows? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Right now I'm enamored with English Home and I recently let my subscription to Traditional Home lapse -- it just didn't have enough for me -- the same with House Beautiful.

I'd go to the library, check out their magazines and find the one or ones that most fit your likes and style and then subscribe to that one!

My favorite lately has been 25 Beautiful Homes, but I find that I'm not reading any of them regularly. I'm considering dropping all of my subscriptions and just buying the holiday issue which is usually my favorite anyway.

Thanks Martha and Gracie!

Interesting that you both mentioned English magazines. Maybe that is why I never find a magazine I like.

I do go to the library and check out the magazines. That is where I saw Cottages and Bungalows but their magazine selection is pretty limited.

I think I will go to Barnes and Noble and check out the English ones. I know Ideal home is nice and I love Canadian House and Home.

I miss the Woman's Day Decorating Specials but don't see them any more.

My faves, in no particular order: Veranda, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Trad Home.

I subscribe to all except Elle Decor.

I love Cottage journal, though it's not put out monthly--rather seasonally. This year, they finally started doing WINTER which is different from their CHRISTMAS. So, that's 5 issues a year.

Aychi, I'll check them out!

Gracie, I love S@H but the cost to U.S. is so high. Are you in Canada?

Indexlady, New one to me. Thanks for the link.

I'm not in Canada, but I've found that the digital version of most magazines, if they have one, is reasonable. Here's a link to the site I use. I'm sure there are others.

A great, and I mean great, online magazine is Lonny. It's monthly and it's free! Here's the link: http://www.lonny.com/

And, then there is TradHome, a free quarterly online magazine from the publishers of Traditional Home: http://www.traditionalhome.com/tradhomespring2012/

You'll enjoy them.

Style at Home just sent me an offer of 12 issues for $17.95 which is about as good as it gets here and I may again subscribe. Magazines from the US and abroad are very expensive here which is one of the reasons I no longer have any subscriptions. I used to be a serious magazine 'collector'. LOL Now I only buy the occasional copy when traveling and friends sometimes give me a new magazine knowing how much I appreciate them. I borrow them from the library occasionally and visit many online magazine sites which solves the problem of having stacks of old magazines one doesn't want to part with. Also much easier to save pics on a memory stick than pages from magazines. I have about a zillion pics saved.

Let us know if you find a new good magazine, my good intentions might go right out the window! Big Grin

Another place I find many decorating ideas is the Pottery Barn catalog.

I don't BUY their things--too pricey for my budget. HOWEVER, they merchandise things so well, and I frequently already have similar items I can use, and display them better.

Their catalog is also online.

You brought up an excellent point. I also rely on catalogs such as Wisteria, Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs and other home design merchandisers for good ideas and inspiration.

I used to subscribe to House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home and now my Traditional Home is expiring, i'll not renew it.

Lately, i just prefer to view the pictures on Houzz.

I had considered the Arts & Crafts Bungalow Homes style magazines, but they all just seem to have too many ads and not enought big beautiful pictures. I had written to House Beautiful long aga and asked them for big beautiful pics and they did seem a change.

long story short, i would go with House Beautiful again Smile

Thanks Cocok!

I will add them to my list. I am familiar with House and Home. I may try the online version as I hear it is less expensive than a subscription here in the US.
