New "OUR HOMES" thread - if anyone has a new link of their home photos please PM me. I've checked every link so they all should work. Unfortunately many of the original links no longer work and I've deleted them.

Explanation for new members: This is a resource for all of us and anyone may have a link to a photo account posted here with pics of their home. There are also other links posted here which may be inspirational. There were many more but they were links to threads which have long been deleted by admin. I've left a couple for ideas for future threads in case anyone wants to start inspirational threads. I may get back to adding to the inspiration4u site as I have time so any new photos won't be lost.

Thanks for sharing! that is a lot of work Smile
I see several names that have not been around in a very long time.....paintlady26 and Schmetterling, Soov, tx-girl, cincyspider, KimMaple to name a few!
I do not post as I use to, and I have been a member since 06/07ish. I had to resign up and not sure why? I came on one day and could not log in anymore no matter what I tried.
Anyways I enjoyed looking at so many of the pics from the past. I know I was able to help a few posters out from time to time on decorating
and most Thanked me with PM's made me feel good that they considered my advice.
Anyways a big Thank You! Wave

You are all very welcome. I don't mind doing this for awhile altho I may pass the buck responsibility on to someone later as I'm not online as much as I used to be. Hope everyone will try to keep it 'bumped' up as we used to do.

Sonny, I have no problem with posting blog links with people's home photos. The only problem may be with admin not liking the blogs that have advertising. However admin seems to have changed policies on so many things that perhaps they'll allow. When I did this thread years ago it 'disappeared' several times without explanation so not sure what admin didn't like about it.

Dumb question--here goes. How do I save this whole thread with the links? I'm afraid if it gets buried somewhere in the boards I'll never find it.

No dumb questions, mamaspoon - but you prompted me to think about it. I guess I was just assuming it would keep getting bumped up like it used to...not a good assumption, since it could obviously be deleted at any time. So I simply copied and pasted it to a Word file, and there you go - the answer to your question.

I recommend bookmarking the thread for easy reference - saves looking back thru pages. In the past many posters kindly bumped the thread up when it fell off page 1. Also, in case admin, for whatever reason, doesn't like this thread I've saved the info and everyone else can also. I just C&P as Nitalynn suggested.

Lucky, thank you so much for always doing this! Smile I've been going to some of the links for a couple of nights now. Wow, some names on here that I haven't seen in years.

I hadn't been to my own Photobucket account in a very long time, it was like taking a trip down memory lane. I think the last time I updated it was in 2007. So, for the record, my house looks much different inside now than those pics. Better, I hope.

However, my yard looks MUCH worse now than it did! Things have gotten ovegrown, it's really hard to take care of by myself. In fact, after seeing how my yard/beds used to look, I started ripping out some huge shrubs and making a new bed yesterday. Good motivation, but my back is killing me. Big Grin

zone9alady,
I just reviewed your photo albums! What a wonderful house, I had not seen it before! I know the hardest plants to have in Florida are the ones that stay small! lol
The outdoor kitchen is my favorite. I put the link to your albums above since the one you listed takes you directly to 5 pictures only.

Loved all the work you did. Love the courtyards!

Thanks z9alady! My hubby is a contractor so we have moved in & out of some beautiful homes. This one will be for sale as soon as the market gives us a good price. With all our kids gone now (all five!), I am looking forward to building our last home that is more reasonable as far as size and something just for us!

I know what you mean about the "last home". DH and I waited for years until he got out of the mil.itary to build our last home. Then you can put in all those special features you've always wanted and not worry about resale.

What a trip down memory lane to look at the names whose house pictures are still available here.

I miss some of these people, others I have never "met" I had wondered about 1902 house but see they got married! So congratulations to them.

Remember Phoebe? I think she moved to Mexico soon after I joined these forums. Lots of old names and nice people. Wonder how Catknap is doing?

Oh, Schmetterling and Ridgly too. Wish they would check in.

I am appreciative of joyluck for keeping this up to date too.

I'm with you lilsophie. I miss so many of these members. I've come to understand why so many have chosen to leave this board though. Things have changed a lot. I really miss the numerous real life decorating projects that we used to share joyfully as others seemed to share in the excitement with their fellow posters, but I'm thankful for the ones that we do have remaining. I'm also thankful to those who continue to willingly share their real projects....no matter the number of posts they make on the same project. As with everything, I suppose change is inevitable. Sometimes change is good and sometimes it is not.

Here are some pics from our 50th anniversary. These were taken by my niece (it is she by the lighthouse)

What is interesting to me is that the angles are so different than in my own pics of these same spaces. Also the house looks a lot less messy than I would have thought given extremely high (for Maine) temps of over 100º that weekend and the fact that we had almost 50 people in and out on Saturday.

All the art work (paintings and sculpture) is by DH. Well not the old fashioned looking sculpture. I made the table cloth in the room with the airplanes.

In retrospect I am enjoying the parties a lot more now!

http://share.shutterfly.com/ac...e?sid=0IatHLhw1YsWch

I brought this over from Food and Entertaining as maybe it more properly belongs here?

I need to update my album and while these are not my whole house and also include some not of the house at all, they are more current.

Thanks Sooner! The fence was painted by my artist DH. The part to the left was done about 10 years ago and shows Portland Head light and our grandkids. When we were ready to celebrate our 50th last year the yard needed sprucing up and I thought the best thing to show color in that dark corner was to extend the mural to the back.

DH painted the Queen Mary 2 coming into Portland. We had sailed on her a number of times but you don't board here!

Here are his two most recent works. This pastel he sold.
