My youngest DGD just turned 1 yr old. For her birthday, I painted a window scene in response to her Mother's request.
However, unlike paintings I have done in the past, this one is painted on a particle board piece that can be removed from the wall when she outgrows it. The others have been murals on the walls that eventually get painted over, : (.

We hung it on the wall last night and when DGD woke up this morning, she pointed to the picture and said "Da."
I think that means she likes it, LOL

TTFN,
Candy

What child (or adult) would not love that magical scene that could lead to so many fantastical journeys! Well done, Candy!

Excellently rendered, enchanting piece of art, Candy. I am glad you went the practical route in painting it on a piece of particle board vs. the wall too.

Lovely painting! Probably it will become a family heirloom!

I also have a "Princess" Granddaughter! However since I don't have your painting talent she's happy with other princess gifts and sitting on my lap looking at princess images online!

Thats very pretty. She will love it . I painted five disney princess in my daughter big crawl space closets when we first moved into our new house , she was 3. She LOVED to play in the closet with her barbies and their big house. When we were painting her room again when she was 12I asked her if she wanted me to paint over the princesses. She said NO Mom I still love them. Made my day!!! She's just turned 17 and guess what they are still in the closet. Your painting will be just like that to your grand daughter

Beautiful job! Wonderful window for a little girl! I like that you made it a painting that can be moved or taken with them if they ever changed the room or moved.

What a wonderful gift! Your talent is amazing!

Thanks everybody.

Froo, yes I signed it on the front and wrote a message to her on the back.

Lori, that sounds like such a fun hide-away! She had her own secret princess land. No wonder she doesn't want to paint over it.

BTW, aren't we all kind of Princesses at heart?
Although as someone pointed out on another forum, many times they move from our sweet little princesses to teenage Drama Queens, LOL

Thanks again,
Candy
