I need help with my arranging the couch inmy livingroom. It is only 14 feet wide; so where do I put the couch, except against the wall?

Welcome! Smile

Do you have a picture of your living room? Posting a picture will make it easier for others to help you.

Yes, please post a picture. Also, how big is your living room? What other furniture do you have? Do you watch TV in the LR? Where are the windows/doors? Do you have a fireplace? What do you think is the focal point of the room?

Welcome to the boards!!! Wink

Yes, we'd love to see pictures of your LR. I'm sure there are probably lots of places to put your couch but we'd need to see your room or at least hear a lot more details about it.

Welcome. More info and perhaps a pic or two would definitely help. That being said, is it possible to angle the sofa?
If your space is a long narrow configuration, you must do what you can to avoid lining all the furnture up against the wall. With careful placement, factoring in built ins and traffic flow, you can lessen that bowling alley feel. Dividing the space, featuring some tall pieces and bringing some out into the room will help. You may even be able to angle a rug that anchors a converstational grouping. Diagonal lines visually expand a space. This is why a harlequin pattern, when placed on walls or floor, has the same expanding effect. Featuring some tall pieces draws the eye upward and lessens the boredom that comes w/ a continuous horizontal line.
