I did the happy dance all the way out of St. Vinney's yesterday. I found, brand new, a set of navy check ruffled edge pillow cases for only $3.99. Checks AND ruffles - my heart be still! Smile

I have a friend who does container gardening and I found the cutest tiny gnome on Etsy to give her.

Always Nesting, it sounds like your pillowcases were made for you. I love the combination of checks and ruffles too. Great price too.

Gracie, that little guy is adorable. I bet she'll love it!

AN -- isn't it great when you find something you LOVE and at a price that is a steal?

Gracie -- what a cute gnome -- it will look really good in a container garden!

I was out and about last week -- most everything is Christmas except one -- a water color which I adored but I'll have to find a space for --

$20!

And the rest is Christmas --

A Christmas plate for cookies or cake -- think it's probably Japanese since it doesn't have a label (and often they were foil that could be peeled off)

Will go well with my Tartan, I think.

I love old Christmas ornaments and they have to be really old -- and cheap -- $2 max per ornament -- I found these in different booths at an antique mall we went to.

I noticed the other morning that my blue transfer ware creamer clashed with my red tartan cup and saucer . . . sigh a month of breakfast with a clashing creamer! So I was on a mission. Only a creamer I needed for if I serve guests, I'll use the silver and a Christmas creamer isn't necessary.

First booth -- there it was -- English -- it's a mini so it's for an individual (perfect) as was the price - $5.

And then when I was almost to the end, there was the matching open sugar (with an odd Christmas saucer) -- when I went back to get the creamer, sure enough it was the same vendor. The sugar cost me an extra $4 but now if I have guests for tea I COULD use them.

The colors are perfect for the Tartan and I've already used the creamer -- the sugar is in the cupboard -- just in case!

Love all the finds, Linderhof-love the plate and ornaments.

My middle daughter collects nut crackers and wanted these, since we don't exchange holiday presents these are for her birthday, which is in early Jan. I got them at pier1. She and a sister (who's birthday is late Dec.)live out of state and are spending the holidays together which helps this old mother hen, I still would rather have them under my wing, but that's not happening so this will be the next best thing.

Just want to say that if you need something to put you in the holiday spirit just go to a pier1 store..WOW..haven't been in one for at least 5 years and did not know which direction to go first. Had glitter all over me when I left.

Always Nesting, it sounds like you found a real steal. It's hard to find ruffled pillow cases.

Martha, I love your finds. I use a lot of Stewart tartan in my Christmas decor and your plate and sugar and creamer would work very well with it.

GMVJ, Those are nutcrackers? Who knew? They are so fashion forward.

Skyler, Love the show n' Tell on Monday mornings! Thanks for doing this for us!

No Xmas for me this year, so I will live vicariously through all of you and the great MMF's photos and finds!

Nothing this week other than working more on our Armoire/baking pantry. Will post photos soon, oh and I ordered some books on Amazon. Already finished the Sister Parish (designer who helped Jackie Kenedy decorate the White house) book I bought! Planning a post about that soon.

OOOH Always nesting, I hope you can show photos of those sweet things!

Gracie,
What a DARLING gnome!

Linderhof,
LOVE, LOVE that print! and for $20!
A Christmas cookie plate, will go great with tartan (what doesn't?)
LOVE those old xmas ornies, you did good on those, they are precious!

Oh how special to have a sugar n creamer just for Christmas season!

GMVJ,
What sweet nut crackers! I will have to check out Pier One! That store was my mood buster for years, anything got me down, a walk through that store (AND a purchase) brought good thoughts and the sun would shine again! Have not been inside one for about 3 yrs now! I still have some things I bought there.

I could make a joke about the 'female' nut crackers, but I will let it go...!

Really am ENJOYING reading about and seeing the MMF's!

This wekend was the "Santa's Workshop" at the kids school (very small Catholic school) For 25 cents a ticket you can take as many chances as you want on any or all of about 25 different prizes. You put your name on a ticket and drop in in a bag taped to the prize you want.

I spent a grand total of $5 on tickets and lookee lookee !!

I won the autumn basket and the Christmas pitcher.

For a grand total of $2.50 I got the 2 Santas
at the sale table.

The autumn basket included pot holders, napkin rings, a ceramic turkey candle holder, a mat, a serving plate, a bag of pourpori (?) a cute gourd thingie, a carved pumpkin crafts thing and a nice lapel pin..oh and a teeny little ceramic turkey..

The purple vase we found at the dump!!
