Help. I originally posted this to paintlady but the powers that be deleted it. Anyone who has done this....did you line the seams up or shift them slightly and how many of the 12 x 12 sheets did you need for the project?

There is more than one way to get to the issue, and that is all that really matters. Here are pics of my china cabinet with the scrapbook paper put in the back of it with double sided tape. I used 12 (12"x12") sheets. You will have to measure your cabinet to determine the number you wil need. It's forgiving especially since I have the leaded glass doors that when closed disguise any imperfections. Also the items in the cabinet cover alot. Basically the paper was just used as a backdrop for everything else. Good luck with your project and please share pics once finished. I have 3 pics to share.

Ok, this is what my question is about it: did you start with lining the sheets up in the middle or did you start from one end and work your way across? Also, I am going with the black and white scroll design. I just hope its not too busy with what I plan to put in it. Yours really turned out just beautiful!

I'm left handed. I needed to say that so that maybe my reasoning may make sense! I started on the left side and worked toward the right. I then had to cut the far right piece to fit. I just lined it up as best I could and let it go! It really doesn't need to be perfect. The paper is so inexpensive....I think I have $6 in this paper...that if you make a mistake...throw it away and start with another. I did have a couple extra sheets on hand in case I needed it if I made a mistake. I have some of the black and white scrolly design and love it. I haven't used it for anything yet, but it was too busy with my design on the leaded glass doors. It was just too much...but it would make for a lovely backdrop on a cabinet with plain glass. I think I'm going to use my black and white scrolly paper to put in the clear sleeves of a black binder on the outside to make my new cookbook. That was another project that I got an idea from Rhoda's blog. Please post pics once you're finished.
Yes, its too beautiful not to use for something. I also got the harlequin paper but I just love the scroll for my cabinet much better. Thanks for the help and as soon as I am finished I will post a picture. I have some different colored toile plates to put in the cabinet so I just hope it does not look too busy. My glass doors are not decorated so that should be fine.
