hello.
recently I moved house and I have a new room. Unfortunately, the room's floorplan is unusual. there are 2 doors and 2 windows, and the room's not square:/
here's the plan: http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9508/myroomj.jpg

could anyone suggest how i should place things/furniture in this room.

thanks.

p.s. the room's 25 square meters

How will this room be used? Bedroom? Living room? Study? What furniture do you need in the room? Bed? Dresser? Desk? Chair? Sofa? What are the dimensions of the walls?

I think anyone here will need answers to the questions above to try to help you.

thanks for replying.

well, it is a bedroom and a living room in one. I have a fold out sofa which I use as a bed, a small square coffee table and that's it. There used to be a wall unit furniture but it's gone now.
I need a dresser and a wardrobe but not a big one and of course the sofa. the rest is optional

the dimensions are roughly 5.5m x 5m.

Since you will need to add wardrobes of some kind, I'm guessing those would work best on the wall perpendicular to the window wall. Then, you could put your convertible couch/bed with its back to the windows and a dresser or desk opposite the couch/bed to hold your computer/television. Add a folding chair or a desk chair that can be used at the desk for the computer and doubles as a guest chair.

If you want to play around with different layouts, I suggest you make furniture templates and a scale drawing of your room. Here's a link to free templates. Just make sure that the templates and the room scale are the same...a common one is 1/4" = 1 foot...or whatever the metric version of that is.

It's most comfortable to sleep with a solid wall behind us so I'd put the sofa bed on the largest solid wall across from the doors. Then buy a dresser and wardrobe that will fit on the other walls.
