Are you ever really finished with your house as in decorating and remodelling? The only thing left to do in our bathroom is decorating. I don't like to move on to another project until the one I'm doing is completely finished (maybe that's why it's taking me forever to get anything done, lol) Our next project after the bathroom is decluttering the house before we move on to redoing the LR. So do you feel like you're ever finished or is it ongoing?

I'm never finished. But that doesn't mean I'm always doing major projects. There's always a way to tweak your rooms and decorating; at least for me, decorating is an ongoing evolution of our tastes and budget. We bought new bedding for our MBR and switched around accessories and its like a new room. This winter in our FL home we put down laminate flooring in the DA & hallway-big impact and improvement for under $2000.00. De cluttering is always an ongoing project in our homes. For instance back home our youngest(and last) grandchild turned 4 last spring so out of the house went the pack and play, highchair, car seat, extra clothes, toys, books, etc that I kept at our house for the grands when they came. I try to do things in increments so it never feels overwhelming or too costly. Of course I'm not talking about major renovations.

NO you are NEVER really finished!
Why?
Because paint gets worn
Trim gets abused, dinged
Something breaks
Something wears out

So, when replacing or repainting:
Things change, colors change, and so you have to redo something next to it... looks worn...

LIFE on Earth is always changing, Nature goes through cycles... so why should decorating be any different? LOL

No, of course not, but if home and decorating are your passion why would you want to be? The day I'm "finished" will be the day I lay down to die or they haul me off to the nursing home (where I will probably decorate my room) Wink

Nope...never. If doesn't need repainting, it needs relocating, recovering, replacing, redecorating, repositioning, repairing, reinventing, or re tweaking. There's my infamous "re" list again. Wink

Used to be a standing joke in our house...nothing EVER gets truly "done" until we decide to sell! Big Grin

My DH is allergic to finishing...I think it's a little ADD...he's always moving on to something new before the last project is complete. Sigh...

I always THINK I am finished, but before I know it 5 years have gone by and things need to be tweaked.

Plus, we are taking on one project a year to keep the house in line with the competition since the day will come that we will want a single story house instead of this one.
