I just tried to start a thread and to post a pic with it; got message that pic was too large and to go back. When I did, the whole thing I had written out was GONE! And it was long!

Why does it do that to you?!?! Eek Am I doing something wrong??

This used to drive me crazy too, sometimes I thought I had already resized the photo but when it still wasn't small enough I would lose the post.

Now, especially when I write something substantially long, I copy (ctrl + c) what I wrote and then post the photo and if it turns out that it's too big, then I just paste (ctrl + v)what I copied to a new message.

When I write a long post I TRY to remember to copy it to notepad, because I have had them go "poof" for no apparent reason, too!

That happens to me A LOT and it is annoying because I always forget what I was going to say! Mad So, as others have said, I always try to remember to copy what I have said so that it is still there if I should need it. And it never fails, if I copy it....I don't need it!

I've had that happen to me too -- usually I just make the post and "picture to follow" and do it in the next reply.

I do what Gelato and Peri do. Really maddening to lose your long post, I also sometimes do what Martha does.

There is a way to go back to your post. When thae too big message pops up, it gives you a link to "Go Back". If you can remember to select that instead of using the back browser or trying to reply again "Go Back" will return the window with your post.

Most times I do what Gelato, Peri and LOS do because I forget to go back. Roll Eyes

That's what I did; I clicked the "Go Back", and when I did, everything was gone.

I just noticed something else, I'm now not getting any email notifications, even though I am supposed to. In fact, I have them set on "Instant"

Yeah, things have been a little odd on here. My time keeps messing up, my sig won't show up no matter what I do, and I can no longer edit any of my posts. Wish they'd hurry up and get their tweaking done! Roll Eyes

NavyWife...... Recently I wasn't able to edit any of my posts. I also could not send or access my pm's.

I posted on here and luckily was guided to delete history and cookies and IT WORKED !!!

    You might try that also....

Hope it works for you !!!

When you resize pictures make sure you change the resolution (or dpi) to 72 dpi). You don't need to shrink the actual dimensions of the photo that way and can still see details in the picture. Photos posted on the web should really never be larger than 72 resolution if you want them to open quickly.

My gripe is that the print on the boards seem smaller, and the screen seems wider. Maybe it's just my computer, I don't know.

Donna - I wonder if the browser is the problem?!? I'm using Firefox.

Is is possibly a screening device that decides whether or not you said anything worth posting?? Big Grin
