After all the times of you posting your blue dishes.I like the clean,beautiful look of them.You have made me want to have some.I've looked around thrift stores,a few antique places too and watched Criaglslist.So this lady posted this picture of these.For 50.00.She said some were bought in England,Japan,USA and Canada.I am wondering if you would approve and the price s right?

That's a nice assortment and I think the price is great! Emily will probably tell you she found hers at that great swap place she frequents...she finds the best stuff there!

My opinion is that the set is worth it, especially since there is a coffee/chocolate pot (can be used for tea) even though you do not have the top. A pitcher, and small tea pot and lots of dishes and love the low side soup bowls!
I have been checking dishes lately in my area, and the prices are near and over $100 for less!
I am sure Emily will pop in here soon and give you her expert opinion! She finds the BEST stuff in her thrift shop!

I missed out on getting these.UGH!!! When I saw the lady posted these.I should of right away said I wanted them & where to meet.I did tell her I was interested,only.Then I posted the pic and thread here.I was so excited,I had to share here. Then went right (ASAP)back to FBook page and several other women posted where to meet to buy.So I missed out.But I know someone else may post on the page.And I will keep on searching the thrift store.I do see differnt pieces at times. I want the plates,dessert plates,bowls,coffee pot and soup tureen. Too bad you missed out, Jackie. I have also been searching for some blueware, and haven't had much luck finding anything that's not Asian-themed (which I don't care for), or just the mass-produced stuff that's available at discount stores. While I can't tell the details from your picture, just on first glance I would have grabbed it up at that price! I also hope Emily is lurking and wonder what her opinion would be.
I've collected mine over the years and I prefer the English wares -- Spode, Johnson Brothers. And the older stuff is better quality IMO.
You see lots of Blue Willow because it has been sold in grocery stores LOTS (at least three times in my little town in the last 25 years) and it is the real English stuff -- Churchill brand.
So keep looking.
And IMO, blue and white transfer ware works well together no matter what the pattern. So if you find plates you like, buy them -- cups and saucers and a coffee pot and a tureen may come along later.
My house is filled with blue and white (not as much as LOS -- but a lot) and there are a variety of patterns and I mix freely -- pulling from the cabinet whatever piece I need to use for that meal.
That was a bargain and I'm sorry you missed it. But I feel that whenever you miss something, there was a reason and something bigger and better (and cheaper) will come along . . . that's why you weren't meant to have that!
