I wonder if I could get a way with 2 full size couches in my LR...
This is a favorite couch of mine carried at JCPenney...someone has for sale on CL.
link to add for more pictures and I will post my sofa next...
Don't see why not, assuming the scale works for your space. Combining them into an L-shape might work better than parallel - depending on the scale and your space. Have you marked off the dimensions, say with blue painter's tape?
I would coordinate them with accent pillows plus a colorful throw (or two).
Hard to say, unless I see it paired up in your living room.
Is that the friday linden street slipcovered sofa?
I'd have to an "L" of some sort. This is our one and only living space. I only have the sofa and chair pictured but the chair does not sit in that spot.
I need more seating. Everyone says not to do sofa and loveseat, because loveseat doesn't add much more seating than a chair. Or I should say "laying" down space...There are 3 of us and 2 of us are always tyring to lay down when watching tv and were not fitting...
Now I'm starting to think a sectional wont solve that issue for us..
But I dont know if I can fit 2 full sized sofas in there.
Yes it is. I was thinking of the other JCPenney sofa I like, the Danbury, but I also like this one, the Friday..
I have that sofa always. I have 3 different slipcovers for it. I LOVE it.
You can buy larger sectionals Always. Like the one that Annielinz has. I can show u a pic of the size of her sectional if u want to see it.
I thought I had my perfect sectional picked out...the leather one at Macys.
I have a couple issues with my living room and the size of furniture I can use. I can't have furniture that is too DEEP becuase it will feel like it's sitting halfway into the LR area.
Plus I have to leave enough space in the walk way going into the hallway area..as show in this picture below. I could move the armoire if needed though.
Plus I have my tv placement...The only place I haven't tried it is where that armoire is currently...
This picture shows the armoire wall better.
I understand your dilema. And what is a bummer too, is you cant return furniture if it doesn't fit.
Just to show you here is a pic of Annielinz sectional. It's not leather, but a larger sectional. It's the friday linden street. Showing you just for size.
Two people could lay on this size sectional, don't you think. This message has been edited. Last edited by: lilsophie,
This is the macy's sectional and it would sit as pictured in my LR, facing the tv. So really it would be the same as my couch, 3 seats across..and the section on the right would almost be like a "chaise". I've already tried flip-flopping the living room and putting tv on the wall behind my sofa and turning the furniture facing the other way...didn't like it.
I could play with the tv on that armoire wall...see how that feels.
This is my dining room/living room layout...
I have the furniture as shown exept my couch is where the loveseat is pictured facing the tv/french-door wall and my chair on an angle as you walk in the french-doors.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Always1StepBehind,
I wouldn't recommend that particular sofa as the color really doesn't work with your scheme and I think it will make the LR look too crowded.
Would a large ottoman work so all 3 of you could sit on the sofa and chair with your feet up? The room wouldn't look crowded that way and I'm sure you could find a fabric covered ottoman that would work with your color scheme. I'd only recommend a leather ottoman if it matched your set perfectly.

I do have one ottoman out in the garage that I've used in the LR previously, but it's a regular sized ottoman, but I know what you are thinking regarding a larger/longer ottoman.
I have one more arrangement I'm gonna play with today...I will post pictures later when I get everything in place.
It would look a lot better to have two matching sofas. My vote is no.
I guess I will wait till I'm ready for a sectional.
I did try my last possible arrangement...sorry no picture though. I put the tv on the armoire wall which leads in to the hallway but there was too much glare from the windows and I've to keep the blinds closed and it made it WAY TOO DARK in the living room. I didn't like that at all...I need the light. So I didn't even bother to take a picture since I'm not going to consider it.
Thanks for the input everyone, I appreciate it.
Yes. We have a similiar sectional & 2 people can lay down on it.
My first question is WHY do you want another sofa in the room? IF I am not mistaken you live in a condo and the living room and dining are are open to each other.
As for the color and style of the craigslist sofa, I vote no. Also I think another sofa would make it too crowded.
Lu, I believe Always is looking for more seating (laying down LOL).
Always, I'd hold out for the sectional, when you find one that you love and can afford. I think two different sofas looks like an after thought, or someone gave it to you YKWIM? Different chairs from the sofa is one thing, but two sofas? I dunno.
Hang in there! You'll find it!
I like to lie down watching tv too so I have put a tv in the bedroom. When I lie down on the couch, I always have a mess - blankets, pillows, etc. Who wants to face that walking into their condo? On the other hand, I have to confess that I sleep better on the couch in the family room than I do in a bed::::::::laughing:::::::::This message has been edited. Last edited by: Love, Lu,
We have a family room, eack kid has their own room, yet we all land up in the living room which is the room people enter from outside-no foyer. In the summer my boys sleep in the living room. The living room looks like a small hotel.
You and I must be twins haha. We are both always rearranging our living rooms and nothing works LOL. Like u I have tried flip flopping my living room and putting TV along wall as u come in the front door and couch across and didnt like it, I haven't tried it with the new couch/recliner but didnt like it with the other couch so dont see it working with this one either LOL. Good luck, Id say 2 couches, sectional limits ya on rearranging, been there, dont that haha.
Yep...already did that. Besides the glare on the tv, I didn't like facing that way. It just didn't feel right so I had to put the tv back in it's original spot.
It didn't feel right here when I tried that either. Our rooms are almost the same way lol. Front door & windows.
