Color Help!!!
I can't find a color for my kitchen walls. We've already tried several (over 10?) samples. Floor is deep blue, cabs are white, counters charcoal, backsplash tile is white.

DH likes a color that he says is grey. I say it's purple and will look like a bruise. We've tried several shades of blue/grey.

Any thoughts? I'm absolutely stuck Frown

You have enough cool colors in the kitchen already and the gray walls make it look a tad bit drab. You have chosen a good neutral palette but now it's time to add some warmth. What other colors are there in adjacent areas?

One way to treat your backsplash is with texture, specifically beadboard. Painted white, the beadboard is a classic treatment that will offer interest without it being in your face.

Also, your choice of cabinet hardware and colorful accessories will make a big difference in curing the drabs. Ditto to under cabinet lighting and pendant lights. You cannot have enough light in a kitchen; it helps eliminate shadows.

Here's an inspiration photo. Note how light and bright the kitchen is with a minimum of color.

One more inspiration photo. Notice the blue and white scheme, no doubt inspired by the gray blue floors.

The backsplash will have texture - arabesque tiles (white). The adjacent areas are a non-issue as we will be repainting (and at some point tearing out a wall to the dining room).

Hardware, faucet, light fixtures, etc are all brushed nickel.

Main living areas are BM Malton. Very boring beige color, but it works.

ETA - thanks AyChi - we must have posted at the same time. Your second pick has the grey/grey combo of floor and counter.

junkcollector, your tiles and cabinet hardware sound terrific.

I think a beautiful slate gray or charcoal on the kitchen-dining walls would do the trick, especially with the crisp white cabinets and trim of the kitchen. Carry through the white and gray with your favorite accent color(s) to unite both spaces.
