I made my choice. I opted for the baluster looking lamp.

I put this candle holder thing on the other side, I'm not real sure how to go about using just the one lamp. Whether I need something else with it or not.

While I was deciding on which lamp to use there I had received a $10. off coupon for Kirklands so I took all the lamps back yesterday and re-bought this one. $54.99 + $10 off!!!

Any suggestions on what to or not to use with the lamp appreciated, size, width, height etc?

I did move dresser/buffet a little to the right to allow room for the lamp on the left..

I'm glad you made your choice. I'm thinking something more squat like a plant (yes it can be faux) in a nice planter to add some greenery and take up some visual space. Have you seen at Marshalls the succulents that aren't real but look real?

Looks GREAT! The bulk of the lamp ties in with your bulky furniture! AND, being wood... you can repurpose that lamp more than once in the time you own it (or leave as is)! That potential IS a plus!

I replaced to taller buffet lamps I had. If you look almost to the bottom of the page, there is the original thread regarding the lamps.

Using 1 lamp was suggested so I'm giving it a shot.

My two cents - I like the lamp, agree about something lower on the right (maybe about as tall as the bottom of the picture), but I do NOT like the uncentered picture. I know someone suggested it, but again this is just my two cents. There is nothing wrong with having the lamp overlap the picture.

ETA: OR, if you are going to have it off-center, then have it all the way off-center with the edge of the picture even with the edge of the table, so it looks more deliberate.

Hi Always,

Oh lamp decisons are made! YAY! Love that lamp and the weight of it with your furniture. I would suggest trying something else in place of the black(?) candle holder (right end of buffet). It seems to compete a bit with the lamp. Something aqua perhaps? or one of your other accent colors. Of course pics are hard to judge and perhaps it is different IRL.

How about a long oval bowl (dough bowl) for the center or even off center? Perhaps a flat round bowl in the center would work too. Some family pics? An old suitcase?

There is too much difference in the scale between the center candles and the other items.

I think you need to play a bit more and have fun with decorating the buffet top. Just ideas to try for you so no worries if you don't. I love vignettes and the simple changes (play) so encourage you to have fun with it all.

I got this magazine in the mail today and immediately thought of your lamp/table.

That's a very nice arrangement, fluffy, and the off-center picture works because it's small and obviously off-center.

Love the lamp! I don't care for the pic off center but the table looks like it could benefit from some texture...a pretty pot of low greenery in place of the candles?

I saw a cute short, fat faux cactus type plant yesterday at TJMaxx but the edges of the plant were peeling.

If I am doing or leaning toward a cactus or succulent, I could probably do real plants don't you think? I know cactus dont need a lot of water, but what about sun? They wouldn't get much sunlight there in that area if they do.

hmmmm, I would guess since most cacti are in the desert areas (mostly sun), that sun would be a necessity, not totally sure on that. I would probably choose a low light type plant, like pothos.

Sure you could do real, but I'm thinking they won't thrive as well without sunlight. Pothos like Wanda said are pretty easy to maintain. I've got one still living in my LR (which receives low light) and its a mir-acle! I seem to have a black thumb when it comes to indoor plants.

I just was so impressed with the faux cacti I saw at Marshalls/TJ Maxx, they looked so real, especially the ones in the terrarium.
