I'm posting this here because I think this board gets viewed more. What is the difference between milk paint and latex paint? Is the milk paint finish different looking than the latex? Thanks

I have a couple of packages but have not found a project for it. We have a trunk that was custom painted using red milk paint and a black glaze was added on top - just beautiful.

Based on the paint I have used,milk paint is a completely organic paint that uses natural pigments and dried milk solids with water. The finish is completely different from latex.I have found that milk paint is best used on natural plaster where it is absorbed by the plaster at different levels.The look is naturally stried, so it is not for someone looking for a smooth consistant color.The finish is hard, yet completely matte.It is more expensive than latex, so it is usually chosen for its specific look.
