So... We're moving in (hopefully) in a month. We have 4 bedroom house. We're going to have bunkbeds and the crib in one room. (Like a sleeping room without many toys, just for sleeping) (and a desk).
We're going to have the big room be the playroom. It is 11x15.

My 2 year old wants a "yellow" room. And, it will still have her toddler bed in it, for when she isn't able to sleep with her sister (due to keeping her up with talking and playing). So, officially, it will be "Izzy's room/playroom"

We got this teepee for christmas, and I think it will be the inspiration for the room. I was planing on doing a chair rail with yellow on the top, and what would you guys do for the rest? Right now, the rest of the furniture will be a natural wood (and can be painted).

I have contacted the company to find out the fabric, so I can make a matching valance. Any other ideas?

    Erika

And... Here is the rug we have... The pink is a little bit more calm in real life, and the blue is a soft pastel. (The inner pink color is a pastel pink).

I love the teepee fabric and the ikea canopes. The rug doesn't seem to go with the same theme, but maybe if the colors are more subdued like you said it would look better than I picture. The teepee fabric is very vintage Hawaiian almost. I would pull the yellow from that and maybe a lighter shade of the blue. I bet you can find lots of that style fabric in the same color scheme to make big floor pillows, day bed pillows, etc. You could even use the cheap beach sarongs that are everywhere right now.

Great idea to go for the blue. I was thinking the green, but the blue would be better. We moved from the coast to the southwest... I'm going to grab some pictures from our time at the beach to put up... That will be a good way to go with the theme!

Hilarious picture! So cute. That tent is so fabulous. Where did you get it? I'm a big fan of that color blue. It looks so clean and classic. The beach themed family pics would be great. It's a fun theme. We don't live near the coast at all, but my husband saw this boat bed in the pottery barn catalog for toddlers and wanted to make something like it. He was going to try and find an old rowboat or something.

Try housefabric.com for the fabric. I believe I saw it on their site. Good Luck
