While we're, or rather I'M, on the topic of "unique", I thought I'd explore flooring. Once again, it's a given these are not necessarily to everyone's taste, but fun to look at. Hope you enjoy...

The concrete idea was the only one I would want.

I do like the stencil carpet, but I know I would be tripping on that corner.

sjf, we're fans of hardwood flooring here too. In what space(s) are you considering it? You can always add warm rugs (w/ pads) to bring warmth, color, texture/pattern atop the wood floors.

cool floors.....but wow are some of those are on pattern overload!!

I'm a hardwood floor person and wouldn't have anything else - although, i do like carpet in my bedrooms.

Definitely add area rugs if you're worried about warmth...If you use carpet remnants and have them bound, it's cheaper than wall to wall carpet, and you can change them out when you get tired!!! LOVE that ability!!

Love the concrete etching too....that's a serious consideration here. The etched wood is beautiful! I can imagine the possibilities, any design to match your style.

Even the leather belt floor was interesting, I'll bet it's nice to walk on barefoot.

A thread like this really raises my spirits.

Just when you think its all been done and discovered and created, you see how much more there is out there that the endlessly creative, intelligent and wonderful human mind can come up with.

esp in days like these with such bad news it is a ray of hope!

I'm floored!! Seriously. Those are some fabulous designs. Even if some are just for demonstration purposes, the creative use of materials and technology is awe-inspiring. TFS, Froo.

Gotta have that interactive dance floor.
