I got these quilts and shams for a bedroom where I’m trying to do a bit of a nautical them. What do you suggest for valances? I didn’t really see anything I liked online. I can make some, but I’m not sure which direction to go. I think a solid color might be too plain, and I’m not sure about mixing two different patterns. ![]()

If you could get a sheet in the blue plaid that would work--or maybe even better, a solid like the blue. or red in the quilt, and a white border on the valance--or white valance with a border in a color from the quilt

I don't know how literal you want your interpretation of nautical to be, but you could use a solid color and add white stars or multi-colored pennants. Do any of these have any appeal? http://www.thefind.com/family/browse-nautical-valanceThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Graciepj,

There might be something here that would work for valances. http://www.nauticaldecorandgifts.com/bedding.html Don't forget to check the local fabric stores. Valances are easy to make even if you don't sew. Just use Steam-a-Seam. Ocean/nautical fabrics here that might work for your room. http://www.brickhousefabrics.com/ocean_fabric.html Good Luck! ~Like sands through the hourglass ~So are the days of our lives
