I know there is someone here who loves their brass. I was watching a show about upcoming decor trends and brass is coming back. I have seen some kitchen appliances popping up in copper. Maybe moving away from stainless steel & silver finishes? It's so hard to keep up with it all. I buy & decorate with things I love & add in some trendy pieces. What's old becomes new again.
I know I am not the only one who loves brass finishes, always have. It's got to be the antiqued brass finish with the slightly dull look of age, not the shiny finish. (That goes also for shiny chrome; not for me.)
Also, I like mixing metals: brushed silver/pewter tones with antiqued brass is my favorite. I think brushed copper is a wonderful and timeless accent.
Add me to the list. My 1937 colonial came with the original hinges, doorknobs, escutcheons, keyhole covers, switch plates, etc. Looks better with age every year!

Sharon W, who hasn't been posting for a while, has antique brass throughout most of her home. Like Cocok, she has a very traditional style. In my own place I have mostly polished nickel which goes nicely with our more contemporary furnishings. Polished nickel was also very popular in the 1920's. If you own a home that was built in the 30's or 40's, chances are the door knobs are a very dark antique brass which looks more like oil rubbed bronze. As far as I'm concerned, nothing is ever truly out of style.
I also happen to love brass, sometimes I think we all get a little intimidated by others that begin with "It's dated!!!" The minute that you don't agree with the latest fad.
