I got the idea of making a border for a large bulletin board we have in a very small, but very much seen area of our home.
My Grandkids are pretty much adult now so I took lots and lots of photos of them thru the years, cut them out and applied them to paper strips which I then had photocopied. Cut the strips and corners out again (this project maybe between 15 and 20 hours so far)
The project will rest now till after Christmas when the final stages of applying the borders to the frame of the bulletin board will take place.
What a fabulous idea!! It's something I aspire to do in the next year after I get back to MI in the spring, sell my house and move into my new condo. By then with no yard work to speak of I should find some extra time.

That's a great idea, Emily! Very creative. Just to add another option, if I was doing it I would probably do the photos in black & white or sepia. All the options (color, b/w, sepia) are great; just different ideas for different schemes.
Emily, what a beautiful way to display your family history! My DM has done a few mirror frames in a similar way. She uses black and white photos. I am still waiting for one she is planning to do with pictures of DTwin and me through the years.

Actually Nita, one of the things I like best about this project is the color! Our printer is broken and since we also want a new computer we are not replacing the printer just now, so I used the pics as they were. After I got them pasted up I did take to UPS. . . oh come to think of it they could have printed them in sepia or black and white. however I wanted them as they were.
For those of us who are old enough to remember when all our childhood pictures were in black and white, changing color to that (while I have indeed sometimes done it is not quite as appealing.
Emily, arn't you creative, I LOVE this idea. I just may have to use it somewhere. I like the idea of doing it in black and white or sepia tones too for a more subtle approach but the color is fab.

Actually Brenda I have made a modification already to my plan. I was originally going to just border the bulletin board, but we have a mirror (smaller) to hang in that same area and as I have photos left over I will border that mirror and hang it in the BB.
I am still pleased with the color but here is an old idea using sepia photos.
is not quite as appealing.
