In a company-wide effort, Power Home Remodeling Group chose the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Employees opened an office lemonade stand, hosted a series of events, and held fundraisers, for which they raised a total of $13,000 in one month.
Jeff Kaliner, Power Home Remodeling Group’s founding partner said, “we are extremely proud of our employees for embracing the ALSF cause by devoting so much time and energy to make a difference through their participation in Power Month for Alex’s. From our employees in Melville, NY, who raised over $1,350 through their office lemonade stand, to the top producers in our Chester, PA office who spent their free time hosting stands during weekends in June – our remarkable employees really banded together to spread Alex’s story to customers in all eight of the markets we do business.”
The foundation’s website says that Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was created by Alexandra Scott, a cancer patient who set up a lemonade stand in her front yard to help raise money for pediatric cancer research, specifically new treatments and cures, and to help empower children to get involved and make a difference. Since 2000, the foundation has raised over $55 million.
