Link to landfill project!
You MUST SEE, this post was on Garden Web and I thought it had the inspiration we see at this time of year when we witness heart lifting experiences that raise the human soul. The poster called the link: Landfill philharmonic (at the bottom of that first post by trailrunner poster).

Just takes 3 minutes to watch, humbling experience and a tribute to the human spirit!

I was amazed that musical instruments could be recycled into musical instruments with such a wonderful sound!

I know! Of course we didn't get the comparison with a high end violin sound and that one, but who cares IF children all over the world can learn to play music?

Wonder what the cost is for the music teacher and the space to rehearse? hope they keep those costs down too (or are donated).

And if some parts of the world where someone makes a few dollars a day or week, hope the cost is also not something they can not afford.

Recycle does not always mean cheaper. Just look at the pallet designs out there, FREE pallets but the labor is the drive for the cost to be high.

What a GRAND concept though... loved the video.

Thank you so much for sharing this, MR. With its heartfelt message of love and passionate pursuit of education, this presentation is especially poignant in light of today's tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

gmvj,
I know! There is a documentary of a trash pile in Brazil where they make ART out of the trash! They place it on the floor of a warehouse, arrange it and it gets photographed from a high spot overhead. Really cool, then they dismantle and start another!

Kelly, yes INSPIRATION! Like bitter sweet.

aychihuahua,
I KNOW... so so so sad (Sandy Hook) My last visit to Connecticut a few years back, I drove by that area (can't see the school from R84 but close to there) on the way to see my son. Beautiful area with lots of trees and pretty scenery.
