Hi. Need a window treatment. Love french cottage style. Would love a floral curetain or valance but my wall is already a floral. Here are pics of my living room and pics of inspiration. Any advice is appreciated

What about a check or simple floral like the inspiration picture has on the chairs for curtain panels since you have floral on your pillow and wall.

A smaller buffalo check though, not as big as the ones on the inspiration picture chair.

I can't tell what colors are in your floral wall but the souleiado prints would work with florals.

To answer your original question, you could add another floral but it is not the easiest thing to do without it becoming "too much" as you said. Scale and balance of colour are the key to a successful combination.

I notice that your inspiration room actually uses two different curtain fabrics and treatments - end walls with valance have different curtain fabric than focal wall.

All of this is just to emphasize that the success of the french country look is the layering of prints: different sizes of print element (to scale for its use), some classic combos and complimentary colors are the baseline for that kind of bold layering. I'm going to put up a few that might work for you to explore (sale happening now, which is nice!)

If you did go green and cream on your window treatments (a more flexible long term move in a living room where your floral reds tend to the berry) you might like these combos for window treatments - drapery would be amazing in this print with the large scale repeat: http://www.calicocorners.com/p...s+fabrics+-+grass.do

For a small trim to make things feel rich and layered (like welting on the first fabric at the vertical border divide?) something like this that picks up all the tones of the paper would make a statement, or if you wanted to add a small accent pillow to the couch to echo checks.

One of the challenges is determining how creamy or how white you want to stay with what you add and the photos show white walls, a very white couch and pillows, and the tones in the paper suggest pale yellow. The first swatches rely on white - in real life, if you have cream, don't add white based fabrics. Stick with the creamy base like in the berry toile and this cream and gream medallion -

So - tried to use these more as examples of the principles I think you want to consider as you choose fabrics. You are best served by getting swatches and then 1/2 yards and laying them over the back of your couch to "test drive" the color tones in your room with your space, etc.

I tend to be drawn toward the reds and white floral like waverly ballad bouquet https://www.google.com/search?...34;d|Bjtj5ZGWl5Ji2M: or Norfolk rose. my wallpaper has an almost khaki background. I've attached a better pic. I'm thinking I might have to get rid of the wallpaper. Plus the cabbage roses are really more of a mauve/ burgundy than a red. I like your advice about getting a couple yards of fabric to see if I like it.

I think the window is screaming a printed flower valance and cordinating color panel.Even a designed panel like the check,plaid or paisley.The walls and sofa is solid,so having more prints around the area is what you want and needs.
