I just can't get my photos to "fit" and post here. Is there an easy way to fix this? I edit in Picasa. I just tried posting my living room mantel and I couldn't. Thanks for your help!

Well, I know this has been posted many times before, but the fail-proof way for me has been to use Paint, which I learned from other posters here. I don't know if this works for everyone, with every computer system, but it seems to work for the majority. After making a copy of the photo so as not to edit the original, right click, open with, Paint, image, stretch-skew (or in the newer version it may just say resize), and choose about 25%.

I use Paint too, quick and easy for fast posting.

BUT I discovered that the old size of 150MB that it says we can post to is too LARGE for me to post. So, I reduce to about 80 MB to fit the page here.

They have not perfected the auto fit on the page for photos we post. So, NOT anyone's mistake of not knowing how to post... IT IS THIS board that is not set up right. Don't give up, reduce your photo in Paint and you will be able to post easily! I keep a folder for reduced photos I want to share here, then when it is time to post, I pick from there!

As someone suggested, make a COPY of your print to reduce, that way you keep the original in a large size for other uses.

Good luck!

I use Paint also and usually resize at 20% or 15%. Then do a 'save as' for the resized photo. This keeps your original and the resized copy.

Another tip is to include 'resized' in the file name. It's easy to select the photo for posting as you know it's ready to post.

If posting a series of photos, I also add "pic 1" to 'save as' file photo and continue numbering the next pics for the series. Easy to post in order and add your comments.

Good Luck!

PS: Just peeked at your blog and love the votive candle hangers on the mantel. Great idea!

All you need is a resize program. google it and then check that its compatible with your pc and the version of windows you use.

I'll go look and post a few links for you.
also picmonkey works with almost everything and it all you to resize and clear up your photo in the event that making it smaller causes any distortion..
back in a few with links.

Do you use microsoft? If so, Paint should be on your computer.

Right click on one of your pics in your files.
You should have "open" at top of the list. Look about 1/2 way down. You should see "open with". Hover on that and you should see options there. Paint should be listed.

Good luck!
