okay so i hate my paint color that i chose to go with this bedspread:

i was trying to make the walls green but they came out light tan, attached below.

what valspar primer + paint will go with this lovely bedspread?

If you have the bedspread, you can take it to store to color match the green in it. Or if there is an insert in the packaging of the bedspread that shows a picture of it, take the picture in to color match.

I agree that you can take a pc. of bedding to a paint store to color match, but personally speaking...if the lighting, furnishings and floorings suited it, I'd pull the rusty-orange hue out for the walls.

Have you tried setting up the bed with the bedspread on it? Sometimes things look better when they are put together, or when you give it time to settle in. Remember that the walls are the backdrop for your furnishings, not usually the focus of the room.

If after you really have time to consider it, you feel like you need a new coat of paint, then for goodness sakes don't take online advice on a specific color! Get a couple of sample pots of paint made up and paint test swatches on poster board. Tape those up on the wall and observe for a few days. Check the color in daylight and night time light as the color will look very different in those different kinds of light.

Doing color testing in your own space is the only foolproof way to select a color with good results.

Beautilful beadspread! I can see why you are concerned with the wall color. As cocok suggested, try the bedding with the color and go from there.

Also agree with cocok. In fact, because of the photo's light, I'm not sure what color the room was painted. It does appear neutral so all of your other colors/accessories should shine.

Give it a try. If it doesn't work then, you can always get a few samples, after having the paint store personnel match your choice.

Take one of the pillow shams to the paint store with you. They will color match it for you.

Keep in mind that matches from dyes to paint seldom really match except maybe under one type of light source. Under different light sources, they will likely look different - this is called metamerism. Beiges/taupes/tans/blues are really tough because they are are very prone to shifting as light changes. So in one light (e.g. incandescent), someone might think it matches perfect, yet in another light (e.g. natural) that same person might think you missed it entirely. It is why sampling is indeed the best way to ensure you can live with a color 24/7.
