Old Twin Beds Sign In/Join

I've accumulated three old wood twin bed frames and have no use for them.

I've considered donating them to goodwill or craigslist, but what I really want to do is to find some way to re-purpose them. Two match (maple from the 50's), and one is a random (probably older) but the head/foot board on the single have a more interesting shape. I just have no idea what else I could use them as.

Any suggestions????

I've seen them repurposed into benches. Can you post pics of them?

Here's another idea...

BTW, I seem to recall that some people actually place them in their gardens for a unique "flower bed".

A photo would help -

You said bed frames so I'm assuming they're long, flat, straight pieces (?). How about cutting them into fairly narrow strips and then gluing and clamping them into a 3 sided coffee table or console?

You also said headboard/footboards. Flat pieces? The 2 matching items might make nice matching side tables and perhaps the 3rd one could furnish some pieces for the coffee table?

IDK - tough for me to gage the sizes, shapes and available lumber.

Good Luck!

OOP! No pictures, I was getting ready to take them and dropped the camera.

I think the older one would be great as a bench!! I Love that idea--maybe paint it tomato red.

The other two have much less 'interest', still noodling that one.

thanks

If you google "headboard benches" you'll find lots of inspiration. Another use I've seen for a footboard is painting it decoratively and using it as a sign, either for the garden or indoors. Of course that only works if one has some talent to paint altho it also could be decoupaged.

If you do some research into the world of Trash to Treasure (T2T) you'll find many ways to repurpose old things.
