People often address the question of displaying china. China is probably my second collection (books first)my style may be too personal and/or crowded for most on this site, but even within the expanse of displays I do follow some rules of color, size, spacing etc. etc, which other may or may not find useful!

I've often thought when viewing your pics Lady, that the pics belong in a decorating book. But, then I'm partial to flow blue and transferware Wink

Oh my, oh my, what an amazing collection! I am feeling so much better about my hundreds of books right now. I've decided that I only need a 1,000 square foot house, but a 2,000 square foot storage unit... Eek

LOS -- what a great collection. And I love the way you have it stored and displayed. I'm sure you enjoy looking at your collection as much as using it.

Wow. I'm a collector, too, and your collection makes mine look like just a piece or two Smile I sent your link to my husband and told him to feel lucky Smile

I'd love to share my pictures, too, but I can't size them below 180 for some reason. I think it's my camera, because I've been able to size and post other pictures, just not the ones I've taken.

I have a chintz china collection, but I also collect a few other things. The chintz is the largest of my collections. I love it and can't get enough of it, although I have always refused to pay a lot for it. I think half the fun of it is in the chase. Anyway, it is the collection that has the biggest impact in my house and people always comment on it. Your pictures have given me some ideas on how to further display some of it because I AM running out of room and haven't really done things like stack it or use shelves on top of shelves. I really haven't even done things like put pieces behind pieces.

I'd be curious how you store a lot of your books, too, since I have an overabundance of those these days, too. I only display the good hard covers - the paperbacks are out of luck Smile

Anyone out there collect baskets i.e. Longaberger or antique? I'd love to see ideas on how people store their baskets, as well.

eeks, I'm out of control.

LOS, you have quite the collection there! I love the way you have it all displayed. I love china, although I haven't had the resources to collect much of it...yet! I am not a minimalist, I need to SEE my stuff! Thank you for inviting us to see yours!

Emily, you have such a beautiful collection. I've enjoyed seeing your pics. I especially love the plates you have above the doorways and up the wall. Do you have your collection inventoried? I am sure, as Becky 42 mentioned that you have some great history and stories amassed there!

Each piece has its own story, although I do have three sets also. I did not start collecting blue & white till 20 yrs ago. Was inspired by a pantry in a house in England I saw in World of Interiors. I still want that pantry! The piece pictured here was a gift from DD; it hangs next to two Charles Dana Gibson drawings and this plate also features a work of his. Sources: yard sales, auctions, gifts, antique shops (rarely) shops selling new things (rarely) I don't mind the washing because I only care if its really clean if I intend to eat from it. I love my china and everybody else's too!

I too, love looking at china and can spen
