I have it in my head that now that grandkids are older I should have some sleeping spaces to accommodate their friends, should they ever want to bring some to Maine to visit!
This is my new addition. In all it probably cost under $40 to realize.
The roll away cot this is, was $20 at a yard sale.
Bed just fits this space. One of the pieces of art is a charming pen and ink "Rainy Day Concert" by Marjorie Ryerson who compiled the lectures of Robert Henri into "The Art Spirit" which is a book DH considers one of the best books ever written for art students.
Also here are some of DGS' "Maine" books. I asked him once if he wanted to go through his books and separate those he no longer wanted, to pass on. He said "I want all my books!"
What a cozy bed. I especially love your ceiling and the abundant light from the windows. I love how the canopy takes advantage of the ceiling height and pitch. Of course, this isn't to downplay your shopping savvy and the handmade touches that mean so much.

What cozy spot! Love the combination of your treasures! The quilt makes it all come together and your 'friend' who donated fabric for the pillows, she is a treasure as well! COZY

Thanks ladies for the kind comments. I was just telling a friend that sometimes I am glad I don't have a ton of money so I can do simple things like these.
This is the expensive free bedspread I got two of at our swap shop this summer.
It is long so I hope DGD is careful and doesn't trip on it. . . you know how Grandma's worry.
