I'm looking for some ideas as far as decorating my living room. The attachment is of the sectional sofa and ottoman that I have chosen. I want to find maybe some armchairs to compliment but nothing too "matchy" and in addition a nice area rug. I'm kind of lost as to what colors to choose. Any ideas would be great.
fyi...the living room has light brown hardwood floors and off white walls
here is a picture of the living and dining area. i hope that it is clear. the room is very casual. my style i guess i would say is contemporary vintage? lol if that makes sense....im not really going for a particular theme but more so a color scheme that isn't "matchy".
The sofa is neutral. Note the example pic and the colors brought in via art, rug and pillows. Take cues from a printed area rug or art or even patterned window coverings. Go w/ a color or colors you love and that best suit the room's size and lighting. The new armchairs may be found in an upholstered fabric that evokes the feel you seek while echoing the color of the sofa plus accents. It may surprise you to discover what textile designers team w/ brown from cool blues, lavenders and greens to warm oranges, reds and other neutrals like camel, gold, pale gray, cream.

If you like eclectic, ethnic style, a beautiful Persian rug with brown leather would be amazing. I also love the new Moroccan tile patterned rugs. And then add pillows in Suzani, Ikat, and other fabrics like that. I love Premier Prints Suzani fabrics and all the coordinating patterns.
