Get a small slice of South Boston area in this video. The look is like biker-grunge-tough guys. This is how EVERYONE looks that my son knows through music that lives there! LOL (not everyone, but you know what I mean...)

These are older band members who used to play in different 70's and 80's famous bands (you might recognize a few) and now 'cleaned up' and still LOVE to play music. They invited my son to play the drums for them, and they all ENJOY playing and are doing this for FUN. They will be touring Massachusetts area and making recordings. This is their FIRST self produced video.

I love this sound! His other bands were younger players and was all Head Banging music and full of battling EGOS. I am glad he is now playing something I like to listen to and calmer guys!

He is the drummer, of course, see where he gets his curly hair from? His dad is Italian so it explains the Olive skin and body hair! LOL

He plays the drums (and so does his son Mikey) with 4 limbs independently, so he can get complex (as needed in the Noisy sound of the Acid rock he used to play).

Love this sound... something I can listen too finally!

Let me know what you think?

Happy New Year Mary Ruth. I enjoyed this video and I love this sound! DH and I are mid-50 year olds who decided about 5 years ago to buy a motorcycle and see some of the country. No tats but we do wear doo rags Smile We listen to many bands at BikeFests and definitely would enjoy listening to your son's band. Sort of a soft country rock sound Smile Best of Luck to them!

Totally loved it! It is great that now they do it for fun. Tell them to do more videos, and let us know.

My son is in one of those "can't understand what they are saying" bands, so I can't truly enjoy what they do. He is home from a 4 country tour so I guess a lot of people like their music.

Here is an older photo of me taken about 6 yrs ago showing my longer hair. See where my son gets it from?

Am I too old to become a Groupie? I have not been this excited about his band since he first started and played some Eagles hits, I was right up there with them singing during rehearsals! I was the only one who knew ALL the words and songs!!! LOL

This is all relevant to this board... by day he is a Custom Home builder! He does everything from foundation to the custom cabinetry and trim. And he does fantastic plaster work!

Loved the music and the singing! I like it when I can understand what they are singing! LOL I'm 51 so totally appreciate the sound. I was a little lost on the video though and who the woman was, was the guy at the bar picking her up? and why were there two guys in the hall with guns? I like music videos and some just don't make sense to me! :-)

You look pretty awesome too Mary Ruth. I love reading your posts. :-)

Well, the music video story is to feature his girlfriend I think. The song is about trying to keep relationships together through the 'bad boy' years I think, these guys have been through a lot in their history and fame. They are resurrected in this bartender wanting to get the band back together. Actually it is not clear, but remember it is 'home-made' so they took what they had. So, in the future they should come out with professional videos. Some of the places on the South side of Boston, are like this, where there are gangs and theft and high crime, real rough areas. They are trying to relate to the people there who end up in their audience.

AKsunny,
I really like the singer, he reminds me of someone I have seen sing before, I'll have to ask him what bands he used to be in. They told me but it went out of my head faster than it came in.

aychihuahua,
Sure is better than that Heavy metal music he used to play with heads swinging the hair (thus head banging) I thought he would go deaf!

I think he is a hottie too! but then I am his biggest FAN! He was so cute banging on things all the time when he was little. He would fill out water glasses to different levels at a local restaurant we used to frequent. After a while they knew him and the waitresses brought more. He would do tunes while waiting for the order to come and then do ham-bone (hand slapping). The customers always asked for more then they would clap! He LOVED the attention! AT home everything we owned was tested for sound when banging on it with different kitchen utensils or wooden spoons! He rocked in his crib so much the screws would come loose the crib would tumble! LOL

I would imagine that it is the greatest blessing to be able to share a passion with one of your grown children. Really can't imagine anything better!

KG,
WoW what energy they have! One band my son was in was like all heads moving with long hair going wild, I could not sit through the show! LOL

my2gals,
YES! And my sons and I are very close and I love the discussions we have, and Pete being a drummer, he would always talk about beats, I had to sit through... "mom this beat, bam bam bam, and then I hit high hat, and bam bam bam... and then double beat and then..." he would go on for hours talking about how he changed this or that or how similar this beat was to that and how he did certain things on the off beat...the would tap out beats while talking... thinking back now, I was not bored, it was hard to listen to it all... and not say 'I have had enough'. BUT the talent, love and excitement he had and still has for music as such a PLEASURE to witness! Passion that deep for anything is an amazing thing... just amazing energy and deep devotion. AND I love that he shares it all with me!!!
