Generally my daughter and I watch Design Remix. They have some good ideas, but lately we have been keeping track of what is spent. The advertisement for this show say $50 plus paint. Today a show from March 2, 2007 aired and we kept total. The cost of things bought totaled $88. How can you mis-advertise this show. If you said $100 plus paint we could understand . . . but this is not right.
A brake down on the costs: $8 - craft paper $20 - beads for chairs $20 - curtains $15 - cork $2 - pillow covers for art $8 - Vaces $5 - lampshade $10 - burlap Can you explain this? What does everyone else think about this mis-advertisement. |

This topic has come up several times on this board, and most of us feel like you do. Designers do get price breaks, and can shop wholesale, and the shows may have design teams out shopping for one of a kind bargains, but to imply that a viewer might be able to do a project for a similar budget is not realistic. Wouldn't it be great if the fakery of TV was more like real life.
