I have a dark green la-z-boy reclining couch with corduroy style fabric and I need to purchase a love seat and chair for my new living room. I am having trouble finding furniture that goes with the couch and is also stylish. It is a fairly new couch and super comfy so I don't want to get rid of it, but I will admit it is not a stylish couch. Any advice on what type of furniture I should look for? Thanks!
I think a dark green is neutral enough to mix in other pieces. You may want to try something more casual since the fabric is courderoy. Instead of a loveseat, why not just do chairs? If you have a pic of the sofa and space, that would be great.

Personally, I too would opt for a couple of chairs, rather than a loveseat. I have had them before, and unless an area is so small a couch won't fit...I find them a waste. Chairs are much more versatile.
Leather is always my personal choice, but any smooth solid color fabric should work with your couch. Maybe a micro suede?
I agree with the others who wisely recommended two chairs vs a love seat. It is far easier to team with your sofa, allows layout flexibility and offers the same amount of seating. The green is neutral. Take color cues for the chairs from a print in the room. If no print exists, adjoining spaces will give you cues or pull a color from a newly introduced print such as pillows, window treatment or a rug. Keep the room in balance as well as addressing traffic flow. You may need another side table and lamp to place between the chairs. The casual, but heavy fabric of your sofa can be teamed with faux suede, leather or a heavy cotton blend. Addition seating can come via an ottoman or stacked cushions if needed. Plaids, stripes, paisley, mini prints, checks are some prints to consider for your chairs. If space is tight, look into armless or straight armed chairs.

I think 2 chairs would be perfect to go with your sofa. I personally wouldnt do a loveseat, because I think the LS should match the sofa. I would do fabric chairs (a print if your sofa is a solid fabric, or small leather recliners. This message has been edited. Last edited by: lilsophie,

If you have room for a love seat and chair, you may have enough room for a pair of chairs and an accent chair. Find a matching set of chairs and see if they fulfill your seating needs first.
IMO love seats are the orphan child of the furniture world. They are usually too small to seat two people but take up more room than a chair would. The only time I use them is in a small sitting room or a bedroom where a sofa would be too large.
Could you attach pictures of the room in question? It might give folks a better chance at helping you find chairs that would coordinate.
Hi Zelda, welcome to the boards.Pics pics pics? Any colors can go with green. And prints/designs in furniture too.Try matching the type of arms on the couch to the loveseat. The type of arms on the furniture matching will work.Big rolled arms, sleek thin arms or curved arms will blend the sofa & loveseat together. Then any type chairs will look wonderful. As long as it's not too contempary,I think. Others are correct if your room is big enough to have sofa, loveseat and chairs.I know I just got a new set and 2 recliners.Rearranging is fun but can drive ya nuts too.
