SparkyAllen,
Mike doesn't read these messages and rarely works in the USA. So good luck in trying to get him to come to NJ to fix up your house so you can sell it.
You're going to need to find a good contractor in NJ to do the work for you or sell the house as is. You might try Angie's List or ask friends and family for recommendations for good, honest contractors in your area.
Home Depot and Lowe's contractors vary widely even within the same area. It takes some of the work out of the process for you just strolling up to the kitchens section and having them install it for you but if the store is doing a good business they'll have several contractors working on various projects at the same time. So your neighbor could have a great experience and your experience might be sub par.
I've had HD and Lowe's install stuff at my old house, carpet and a garage door, but now for the most part I seek out the contractors directly to do the work. I just had my hardwoods redone and the area covered by hardwoods expanded, I chatted with neighbors and a contractor friend of mine to see who they'd recommend and used that contractor. The really good ones may not be advertising much because they get plenty of work from referrals.
