Just don't understand why HGTV moved the Mike Holmes shows to DIY. We don't get that on our package so now we don't get to watch our favorite show. Our cost on Directv would go up to over $100 if we added DIY to our lineup. Upset about this issue.

They had to make room in the schedule for House Hunters International, House Hunters, House Hunters Renovation, Love It or List It, too. /sarc

DIY is in my digital tier as well, so I can only get it on my family room TV with the DVR/Cable Box. The other TVs in the house only get the analog tier (channels 2-75 or so). At $200+ for cable, internet and phone service I refuse to give them any more money. I don't have any premium channels and one DVR. If I didn't work from home I'd probably drop the home phone service but doing work calls all day long on my cell phone gets old real fast.

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
