What do you do when you move in with someone and realize that they have stuck their foot in a bear trap of a mortgage and a money pit of a house? My husband lived in a flood zone before he met me and his land was bought by FEMA, he purchased two acres of land and at his former wife's insistence, a new double wide trailer.... Now years and thousands of dollars later, the floors are sagging in three rooms due to a hidden water leak, the windows are rotting out and the A/C - heat unit just blew up! We now have mold issues, floor issues, wall issues, the whole house is falling apart and since we can't get better insurance due to the state of disrepair of the home, we are on our own, every time we fix one thing, ten more go wrong. We can't get a loan, can't sell the home in the shape it is in, we owe more on it than it is worth and we have no where else to go.And we have begged and borrowed from family until we can't borrow any more so since my husband barely makes enough to pay the bills, we are in limbo. Talk about life giving you lemons! I wouldn't know how to start making lemonade out of this mess!

Lots of people get in a bind. There is no solution here, it's where you are. You didn't say if you're working or if there are second jobs for him or you but it sure sounds like the only way out is to get more income.
