However, I have a question for Mike Holmes or anyone who may be able to help me resolve this issue with my foundation problem. My backyard is on a slope. I am in need of having my water redirected away from the foundation of my home especially in the back of my house. I have seen some of Mike Holmes' shows where he had a french drain system installed. He used some type of rubber type material and attached it to the foundation of the home. Do you know what type of material he used??? Where can I purchase this material??? I went to my local home improvement store and they had no idea what I was talking about

You going to have to go to a specialty retailer to get these kind of materials.

Here is a link to some: http://www.concretenetwork.com...lies/usa-and-canada/

Google search foundation waterproofing for more. This is generally NOT a DIY project. It involves excavating around your foundation, not the easiest thing to do without the proper equipment. And with the proper equipment in the wrong hands is a good way to undermine your foundation.

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

You're welcome. Good luck and post back with what you do.
