Not that I think $25,000 is anything to sneeze at but for evey other All Star show I've watched (Survivor, Top Chef, Project Runway, etc) the prizes are often equivalent to or better than the prize the we're vying for on their original seasons. I mean a guest host slot on an unnamed show? Really? What a fail.

I agree that it's not a very good prize. I don't see how being a guest on a show is better than being on this show. HGTV could use more design shows so why not give them a show of their own?

I was surprised that the prize was so low as well and the guest spot is kind of lame too. I think 100k would have been more appropriate.

I think it would be a conflict with the main, longer, tougher show if the All-Star show had some tremendous prize package. This is, after all, a filler show and these people, nice tho an All Star title may be, did not actually win a round of Design Star.
