I read the bios and saw the portfolios of the next Design Star. Most of the contestants are in their 30's and 40's, but one lady is 64. I will be watching for her and wishing her every success. She has not chosen an easy task.

I found the portfolios interesting. I thought some of the designs were quite unique.

I am anxious go hear what everyone else thinks.

Marylee

Does anyone have any thoughts about the portfolios and contestants for the new Design Star Show?

I have not watched DS since season 1. And, have no intentions of doing so in the future.

However, I do love looking at the contestants' portfolios, and must say I am pretty impressed with this year's cast. I really like to see contract work and residential work represented.

I was also impressed by some of the portfolios. There were some designs that were different from anything I have seen before.

Maybe the series will be interesting to watch.

Take 200 year old hand carved church doors and splash blue paint all over them - it seems almost criminal? I think I know who I won't be voting for.

I haven't looked at the portfolios yet. Last year I liked Karl after seeing his protfolios, he remained my favorite. I'll have to see if anyone stands out, hope it's not the one that got sent home tonight.

CorvetteLady, I would be interested in hearing what you think of their portfolios. I thought there were interesting designs...Things I hadn't seen before. They certainly aren't afraid of color.

I agree mriley lots of interesting colors. There were three designers that I really liked, Brittany, Danielle and Rachel. I was surprised that Miera had no portfolio, and several only had 7 photos. Makes me wonder how they got picked.

I don't think there was any one that was outstanding. Some were underwhelming. I think this is going to be a very interesting season.

I was surprised by the one that did the metal sculpute, forget his name, I thought that might be all he was good at but he had some interesting designs.
