I truly feel I can no longer watch this show. I have watched it loyally but, I cannot understand what Kris K has to do with design. She has atrocious taste, have you seen her house. I am so disappointed.

I still can't figure out WHY the K's are even on TV. Confused

I just saw that, I can't believe as to the reason that HGTV has invited this lady to become the judge of people that I am sure have more experience and knowledge as far as design that she will learn in a lifetime.
I just saw a episode that she hired a designer and a closet organizer to do her house. If she is so knowledgable, why didn't she do it herself.
So sorry, but now HGTV is catering to a family that is known for trashy behaviour.
Wow, what were they thinking.

HGTV seems to be going for the same direction as BRAVO. Talentless "celebrities" instead of professional design personalities.

After all the years that we all fought to have people that were designers as judges for this show. and now this Lady. I feel that we have gone back seven years, and unfortunately much worse.

Don, the link I am going to give you is from last season, but maybe there will be info there that will help you find this year's audition date.

Why is she on? Because HGTV and the rest of Scripps Netowrks are pandering to the youth market. They want to lower the average age of viewers.

I was very disappointed to see Kris in the previews. I too wonder why those people are on TV. I doubt if very many fans of Design Star are fans of the talentless Kardashian clan.

I am sure that Vern and Gen will have the last say in who stays and who goes, Kris will just be window dressing. I am not going to let that ruin the show. It will be one episode and we will only have to deal with her for about 15 min. It might be a good idea to let the show know we don't like her. I will maybe send an email or see if there is another way to contact them. I am sure they read these boards but it would be good to let them know what we think.

The Chat Now site is available Mon-Fri from about 9:30am till 5:00pm ET. The ladies there are very courteous and helpful and they pass your comments to the proper department.

The Kar-Trashians are everywhere because they can afford to be and it drives me crazy. Who cares what they do or what they think?

At the same time, why in the world is Genevieve a judge? She isn't much of a designer, or much of a listener to her clients or much of a personality. I really don't get it. However, if I must choose, I'll take her over Kar-Trashian.

HGTV has always been my escape/getaway from all things related to the Kardashians. The media and internet has been saturated with this family. I'm so disappointed to see that Kris Kardashian has now invaded this show as well. I will NOT be watching any HGTV programs with her on them.

And the lower the emotional intelligence of the viewer by having her appear. Please HGTV smarten up. The only reality tv personalities we want to see are the contestants who are professionals of a trade, not professionals of self promotion.

On the previews, the next challenge for the designers is a room for the Kardashians (in fact a new clip just aired). Looks like a lounge/office.
I would certainly want the opportunity to critique if it was my home.

Although Kris is a celebrity judge, it's not the same concept as Vanilla Ice for the White Room.

I agree with all the comments. I'm not happy to see the totally overexposed, talentless Kardashian on this show. I don't see why Kris K. would appeal to younger viewers. Perhaps they couldn't get Kim on the show, who knows? All I know is I don't care. She has nothing to do with design. I even thought Paula Deen was a better choice last season because at least she was judging kitchens, which she obviously spends a lot of time in! And Paula, although I'm not a big fan of hers either, is certainly not as distasteful as any of the Kardashians.

I just read all the negative responses, and I couldn't agree with all of you more!! I just laughed with you concerning your comments. Funny, funny... I didn't like the first 2 guest judges either. I guess they are just trying to get a different audience. Over all I am really enjoying this year's judging from Vern and GG, they seem much kinder and more personable!!

Yes, they are a teeny bit nicer even tho GG still smirks (yes, I realize she came from the womb smirking but it still irritates me). I know they aren't supposed to lower themselves to read the MB but somehow they must have gotten the word that they were digging their own deep grave as far as viewer opinions go.

As I've said - I love Design Star - it's my one guilty pleasure of the year and I love yelling at the t.v., dishing with y'all on here and trying to figure out the strategy.

I watched DS the week before kris was on there. I thought it was a good show and that I might watch it again until I saw the leader of the camera loving clan was going to be on there. I refuse to watch anything with any of those people on it. I think HGTV has lowered itself and it's show by putting her on there. Leave her on the other channel!

According to Loren Rusch, Kris Jenner came to HGTV with a legitimate request for a make over. What he doesn't say is that she probably picked D.S. specificly to keep her family's name in the news.

This sort of shameless self promotion, constantly shoved down our throats by people who have no talent, who are just famous for being famous, makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm not watching this episode and may possibly just blow off D.S. altogether.

Sorry but this kind of "National Enquirer"/ BRAVO network garbage is just time filler for people who have no incentive to do something else with their time.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I have an antique mirror that needs refinishing!

I would never have thought that a Kardashian could ever end up on HGTV, but it has happened! I just cannot watch. I'm going to skip the Kardashian episode and hope that HGTV is more selective in the future when selecting guest/celebrity judges.

Maybe Vern will trash her worse than the contestants. Now that would be funny.

I, along with so many others it appears, am so disappointed in HGTV for giving this person a platform to promote herself. As soon as I saw she was the guest this week, click goes the remote. Then, on top of that, when I returned to the station after the show the next show airing was making over the Jenner kids closets! HGTV, I thought you were above all of that celebrity crap, but unfortunately it looks like you took the bait. When the agents call, just hang up!

I think the reason Kris Jenner was on last night's show and the "Million Dollar Closet" one following it was, besides vying for attention at anywhere and everywhere, she also doesn't like paying for anything and wants to get everything she can for FREE. According to the episode, she brought the building and then didn't want to spend her own money fixing it up. Hence, "Design Star, I need a makeover."

Can we not escape the Kardashian's anywhere? Uuuggh. What an unbelievable stunt, HGTV.
Whoever decided to have one of those horrible Kardashians on this show (that I can no longer watch) should be fired or should move over to the mindless E! channel.

We, long time HGTV viewers, are WAY better than that.

Insulted.

Boy, HGTV must really be desperate to have put Kris Jenner on the show. They were in the LA area, they could have gotten any star to do a makeover for. Remember years ago when they did Wayne Newton? There wasn't any backlash against him, perhaps because at least he is a real star with real talent who doesn't go out of the way to sell himself to the highest bidder for more TV exposure!

I do not understand why the network decided to help decorate the offices of the K family. This family has enough money to decorate their offices and the offices of any other organization. Why the network did not find a non-profit organization in need of a good space to provide services to the community, I am sure that in California there are plenty of organization that do not have the budget for decoration but they can benefit from a little paint and some decoration from HGTV for their client and for their staff. Please do not provide for the ones that already have too much.

Had this same thought, Marla. Hoping that's coming up in a future episode. Also don't particularly want that to be the episode where they shop in 2nd hand stores. Just sayin' -

Replying to the question, why are Jenner and kardashians on so many shows/networks, it's the Kris Jenner PR machine that contacts all these networks and shows and doesn't take no for an answer. The woman just keeps talking and bulldozes her way into wherever she wants to be. It's her main focus in life to ensure fame and money for herself and her family. I don't watch any of their shows any more but once in a while when I'm scanning channels I hear a portion of their show and she appears to be ongoing whining about how busy she is and has to be up at 4 in the morning and can't sleep at night and on and on. What's she so busy doing? Trying to rehab her daughter kim and herself and her family, that's what. She has that woman who heads up E! under her thumb, also apparently Ryan Secrest, and other networks/shows - HGTV, Today, Oprah, Live with Kelly, Project Runway, Rachel Ray, etc. etc. - can't or won't say no to her. I understand the HGTV/Design Star people (and most of these other shows) have been shocked out of their shoes at the huge negative backlash they've gotten for having jenner and/or kardashians on the show - you know, all these guys need to pay more attention to blogs and comments about so-called stars before they invite them on their show. Yes, I have a remote and do use it to change the channel when any j/k person is on a show but sometimes it's disappointing not to watch a show I'm otherwise interested in. I'm just sick, sick, sick of these disgusting people and wish for a time in the future they won't be in our faces at every turn.

As much as I love this show, in fact have seen everyone since the beginning, I refused to watch that one because a K was on it. I refuse to watch any show that "they appear on.
