The fact that she didn't to the desires of the clients by including the mirrors in the design plan even though she was advised agains it should have been enough. Not to mention her behavior of running behind the designers in an attempt to fix what she felt needed fixing was condescending.

Design Star was a complete sham tonight. Wow Leslie should've been cut. She did not listen to what owners wanted . No Mirrors. She was a tornado nightmare going behind designers moving every great placement. Very difficult & hard to work as a team. I do not want to see here proceed forward & will not watch a show if you pick her as the next design star.

I could not agree more. I was so ready for her to be GONE. I know its a contest, but a designers' priority should be their clients and they seemed to be last on her mind.

I couldn't agree more. Leslie should of went home and she knew it. First of all she did exactly what Anna told her she didn't want so that alone should of had her sent home. When the guy was sent home she was saying I'm sorry was starting to cry because she knew she was the cause and she was the one who should of went. She went be4hind everything they did and moved everything and I dont like the way Vern don't give them a chance to say that. if there is a problem then they should be allowed to express it at finals/ She is way to pushy. I didn't like her the first time around and cant wait to see her go......She was wrong tonight and the wrong person went home. Id like to see Hilary since Kelly is off already.... I couldn't believe Danielle won also that was another joke but the last 3 seasons have been a joke with the wrong person winning.....Its getting to the point I don't even want to watch anymore.

I hated that Leslie ran rough shod over her team mates. I am glad that she finally realized what she did, but that doesn't help Josh.

I noticed that Hilary wanted to give the homeowners what they wanted and she worked toward that goal. Josh and Leslie were trying to put their mark on the room to impress the judges. Impressing the judges is fine in a white room challenge, but when you work on an actual home, you have to think of the homeowner's wants and needs. If the designer's work impresses the judges as well as the homeowner...that is a winning situation.

I was really glad to see Dan and Tom talk and work things out. Very professional and it showed in their work. I do wonder how Dan would have handled the situation if he had been teamed with Leslie. Dan had been apprehensive about working with Leslie at the start of the show, so I wonder what was going on that we didn't see.

All the above is just my opinion.

I agree mriley that it's nice that Leslie realized what she did, but like you said it doesn't help Sparkle Josh! And now WE, the VIEWERS, don't get to see him next week! I was just posting this on another message. I am SO sad they kicked him off. He is why I watch the show. I could not BELIEVE he was on HGTV again and I was so excited, and now he's not on anymore ALREADY. I think all of the designers have talent but he has talent AND heart (and Sparkle). Wink Bring back Sparkle Josh!!!!!

I think that maybe Anna liked the mirrors, so that may have worked in Leslie's favor. I do agree that Leslie was overpowering Josh and Hilari but as Vern said this wasn't their first show. I was upset with Josh and Hilari for just standing around letting Leslie move their stuff.

I have to say that Josh was really annoying tonight. If he said I have to let my sparkle show one my time, I was going to throw something at the TV. He wasn't that concerned about makeing the homeowners happy. The lamp on that box was just awful, at least Leslie's mirrors looked good.

I think Sparkle Josh is more concerned with Sparkle Josh then he is with design. His room last week was over the top and he really didn't add much to this weeks challenge.

Leslie should have gone home.I think she has a very bad attitude and was out of line moving the other designers work. I am surprised Hilari did not confront her because she seems like she would stand her ground and would not take being treated like that. I am hoping Leslie goes home next week. The judges seem to get rid of bad attitudes quickly. I hate Tom's deign style. His obsession with the color brow is awful. I hate his rooms.

I seem to recall that last week Josh was near the bottom, so my guess is that the judges took that into consideration when making their decision. I have to give him great credit for telling the judges that the bench got moved instead of blaming Leslie for moving it. That showed a lot of class on his part. Fortunately, she owned up to what she'd done. If the judges had seen how poorly she worked with her team, I wonder if their decision would have been the same.

I had a different interpretation of the mirror issue. Anna mentioned that she worked on choreography in her room, and that's when someone asked about her wanting mirrors. My interpretation was that she didn't want the room to look like a dance studio with mirrors, rather than meaning she didn't want decorative mirrors.

The judges - Vern and Genevieve - should go home. They are the worst. And so darn arrogant about it. I like to see what the designers come up with, but I hate the judging. Vern and Genevieve sure are in love with themselves.

Monica was charming and kind.

Exactly ! I would like The Judges Watch the video of relationship and work together of the teams, ( like we the public see it) , BEFORE to go to the final judgement.
They do not know the thinks we, the TV-watchers,see :selfishness .

I hate teams work Frown always the overpowering personality run over the others and not every time the better idea can go to realization.

I thought Leslie could have handled herself differently. We may not appreciate the level of chaos and excitability that goes on when you're actually participating, so it could be understandible if someone wigs out a little.

The more I saw of Sparkle Josh though, the more his look seemed all glam with no substance. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the mirrored furniture and metallic accessories he was drawn to, especially while at Pier 1, looked like junk to me. I know HGTV is not about "high end" design, but I'm always more impressed when a designer can make the total look like more than the sum of its parts. In my opinion Josh should be doing store display where the quality is less important than the look being conveyed.

You're right, Charles - it was junk. I'd just been in Pier One the day before to look for something specific for a client and saw everything they displayed. I admit I will use Pier One if a budget is tight - but I honestly can't see anything there being used in a home for those two home owners.

I think the mirrors worked cause it's hard to find sparkle and glitz with out what ever surrounds mirrors. I think the mirror part of that was minor. And I guess it's a traditional thing to put over a fire place and it was used again in the dining area. But again it had a strong frame. If she wants she can put a picture or painting in it later if she is so against a mirror.
I think she said it cause she was worried they would give her a whole wall or a large section on the wall of mirrors like in a dance studio.

Leslie is fun and has personaity, to stay though she has to bring the rest and be able to work with people. We will see if she stays true to her cast here, or if she goes byebye.

I finally finished watching this ep. OMG, Leslie should have gone home, how awful! Poor Sparkle!

Also, I suppose it was just me because I know how much everyone loves Dan, but I did not like how he and Tom told the girls and Sparkle in the beginning that they would help out with money if they could when asked whether it was fair for the money to be split 50-50. Of course the men wanted it split evenly even though it was debatable that they needed it, but then to promise to help the other team out and then turn them down when they asked for a measily $300 was just not nice, IMHO!

It wasn't even just "Oh, so sorry, we spent all our money". Dan said something like, "No, this is a competition fair and square" like he wouldn't even consider it if he had the money. WHAT? In the beginning he was acting like he'd help them out if he could and then acted like this? Definitely NOT NICE and Mr. Ntuitive1 had the same reaction along with me.

Honestly, I never understood why everyone loved Dan so much even during his season. Yes, I would rather that he won instead of Antonio, but I still never LOVED him and I like even less so now than ever!

I agree with Soosie. Why they have two rejects from Trading Spaces judging Design Stars is beyond me.They both had awful designs on Trading Spaces..especially Gen.She was a hot mess on that show.

BabyDollBundy, you hit it right on the spot! Vern and GeneGRIEVE are two designing nightmares. I really do not understand how they are deemed worthy to judge anyone's designs when their own are hackneyed and just plain bad. Vern's designs are of a one trick pony and GeneGRIEVE's are messy, cluttered and boring.

I can pick several DS contestants that could design rings around those two. And then they have the nerve to have this superior attitude? Please!

HGTV, you are a joke when it comes to these two.

Oh and yeah - Leslie should have been packing her bag to go home. She always seems like she is grappling between her hatred for losing her youth and her reluctance into accepting her middle age. Hence, the spastic behavior. She needs to learn how to grow older gracefully.

Part of the competition is the camera challenge. Leslie aced it, Josh Sparkle did not. I believe that is the main reason he went home.

I've only just emerged from Olympicsland and just happened to catch two episodes of DS All-stars the other night.

While I agree that Leslie shouldn't have been moving stuff around the way she did, she deserves a lot of credit for realizing that and for working hard to fight that impulse in the next episode (I realize that most of the comments on this thread were made before the Facts of Life episode aired). I also agree with SoCalAngie about the mirror issue. The HO certainly did seem to like the mirror once she saw the redesigned room, so I don't see what the harm was. Isn't part of being a designer pushing people beyond their 'borders' just a bit?

I'm a little shocked by all the negativity about Leslie. Yes, she's energetic to the point of sometimes being a tad too frenetic, but listen to her interviewed explanatory clips -- the woman has a heart of gold. I always like her designs, too, so I'd be more than happy to watch her if she had her own show.

I love all three of the AS finalists -- wish they could all get shows.

MsWildhack-I totally agree with you regarding Leslie. I don't get all the negativity about her on this board. Yes, she's a bit energetic, but I find that it just shows her passion and excitement for design. I think she's a wonderful designer. She can design my home anytime. Of all 6 All Stars her designs are the ones I would choose every time, as her style is very much like my own, with a little bit of Tom thrown in. I love how his rooms have that old world, lived in feel.

I agree that Leslie should have gone home. She ignored the wishes of the home owners, and she ruined the work of the other designers. She's just an annoying mess.

Everyone is harping on Leslie's mirrors, but decorative mirrors are a far cry from dance studio mirrors, which usually cover a wall completely. When Anna was talking about her wants for the room, she said that she wanted space for dancing, and the designers asking about mirrors was in the context of the room doubling as a dance studio. Anna did not want a dance studio-type wall of mirror. The designers understood that, but folks are acting like any mirror anywhere was deadly.
