I am so disappointed in the judges decision - yet again - to let Dan go. He is a brilliant designer with a wonderful personality and I would LOVE to see him on his own show. Come on, HGTV!!! Let's get Dan a show!!!!!!!

As much as I hate to see Dan go, he did take a risk with that green color. Genevieve remarked that she had seen Dan use that color before in a kids room.

Didn't Dan have a show designing kids rooms?

Dan is so multi-talented, he could succeed in many fields (he's already a model too). So I don't think this would be the last of Dan in the public eye.

Josh, I agree with you completely. That color did him in and as much as I like him, it was his week to leave (altho I'd much rather see Leslie Cheerleader leave).

BTW - I see you're from SM - grew up there and miss it terribly! You're SO lucky!

I am with the crowd that thinks Dan should have won over Antonio. He just doesn't seem to have learned anything from that experience or he would not have used a color that he knew the judges didn't like. Hilari tried to change his mind and so did David. Maybe Dan thought he was the chosen one and could do no wrong.

I knew when they said that Leslie was safe that Dan would be the one to go. I guess they didn't think the wallpaper that Leslie choose was as bad of a choice as that green paint.

I was sorry to see Dan go also. I wanted him to win instead of Antonio his season. He is so talented and creative and has wonderful ideas for repurposing furniture. But that neon green was just awful. I had a feeling he might be the one to go this time. I wish HGTV would give him his own show. I know he has tons of fans (like me!) who would love to watch him every week.

Once again, the judges have given Dan the thumbs down. So many less talented individuals got shows that didn't last. So he erred on the green color. Tom is not a great designer; he has difficulty editing his design because he is set on his ways and should not have a show. On the other hand, Dan is very capable and maleable. I still think that the judges are boring, especially Vern yip. Gorder is not a great designer herself and I do not trust her judging in view of some of the work she does. Yes, she has an appealing personality and good looks, but that is it. The most outstanding designer is by far Candice and she should be back judging.

You are so right! The Leslie/Tom room did nothing for TV presentation.

Antonio should have never won the contract. He only appealed a specific audience. Dan got robbed of an opportunity due to bad judgment of these judges. I have said all along that this show needs a new infusion of judges.

Dan should NOT have gone. Yes, the electric green was a bad choice, but it was better than the bland back-ground that Leslie and Tom had. I have been rooting for Tom both the first time and this time, but he made the worst choices in this challenge. Also, as much as it pains me to say, he does not learn from the judges critics. He has been told many times to edit, edit, edit; but he still goes overboard. And he never seems to improve his camera challenges.
Dan, while he did not learn from his kid's room challenge,he has listened and changed many things. Also, he should have been the pick over Antonio. I think they picked Antonio because they thought he could be 'controversial' and attract views that way, but it didn't work - did it HGTV?

As for Dan's "green catastrophe," to me it pales in comparison to his many, many other brilliant designs. I do wish he would have listened to Hilari and David, but I have to appreciate his belief in his design because he's done so many other designs so well.

As for Genevieve's credibility as a judge, I do enjoy her new show but I have trouble getting over some of her wacky designs on Trading Spaces, and seeing her as a strong designer. Candice is a GENIUS to say the least and she should definitely come back to the show. Vern could use a little caffeine. I do like him and his style, though I'm not sure why he doesn't have his own show now.

Antonio should have never been given a show. I agree that he probably was given the job to put a little spice on HGTV, but instead he pours habanero sauce on everything he does and it's way too much for me.

Back to my beloved Dan ... almost every designer on HGTV has done something that people don't care for. His small missteps should not be used against him to keep his brilliance and sweet personality from us. Come on, HGTV ... get this right. We deserve Dan!

I agree wholeheartedly. Dan's camera challenge was much better than Tom's. He did a fabulous job with the fireplace and also had some input on the white cupboard. David made it sound as though Hilari designed most of the room. If you are looking at poor choices, Hilari had the orange poof.

I personally prefer a designer who contributes to the overall picture instead of just sketching a design and shopping. Lisa and Monica from Designed to Sell are expert seamstresses and Sabrina Soto stains furniture, etc. Yes, their shows were/are based on saving money. However, David creates a one of a kind painting for each client.

I have never understood all the love for Dan. He strikes me as a kind of clueless guy and he doesn't even present himself well on camera. I actually liked him better on his season of DS and would have rather seen him win over Antonio. I still feel that way, but that just goes to show how little I liked Antonio!

Tom's camera challenge may have sucked but I think he contributed positively to his room. It was very pleasant to look at, even if a bit chatchke-laden.

Dan made himself look even more clueless by not heeding David B's advice. When David B, the king of too-bright colors tells you to take it down a notch, you'd better listen. I'd say he deserved to go home on the basis of that poor judgment all by itself.
