snappyscrapper23Product placement
The product placement on this show is getting more irritating as the season progresses. Case in point; Yes, we know David is driving a Volvo. The logo doesn't need to be highlighted EVERY week. If I want to buy a Volvo, I'll buy one whether it is on Design Star or not. This is Design Star, not Star Products. Let the emphasis be on the designs and "stars" instead of the sponsors' products.

doodles64It's simply another money making gimmick. I'm sure the people like Volvo who provide those things have it well written out as to how many times they are shown and how many closeups, so if HGTV wants to get the goodies they have to go along with it.
Having said that, however, I do agree with you - it is irritating.

CorvetteLadyThey have to pay for Kris Jenner's office someway!
I thought the Volvo shot was way too long. I wonder if it's David's everyday car of he just gets to drive it on Design Star?

SoCalAngieProbably David (or someone) got a free car out of it.

SoxladyLast night they also showed someone picking up Glade air freshener while they were at Target. Pretty soon they'll be showing exactly where in the room the air freshener has been placed and how they decided on what color to buy.

wendekAnd Stanley cleaning the desk he built last epi, the cleaning product was blurry but it was supposed to be a sell for it.
clever advertising. I'd rather watch that than idiotic commercials.

It must have been Pledge, because there's an ad for it in the photos for the episode!
