I have to say, I was impressed with all the rooms.

I don't agree with Stanley being the winner. I do think that he did improve greatly with the hosting challenge, and he and Rachel had a very nice design- but I don't think Stanley was the best.

I thought Mikel (sp?) and Brittany did a fantastic job and I think Brittany should have been the winner.

Miera and Kris pulled of a very nice design in spite of their not getting along. I think that a little too much was made of the drama (makes me wonder what is being set up for future episodes)

As for the "problem rooms":

I think it is unfortunate that Danielle messed up the wallpaper at the last minute- and I understand the judges docking her for that- but I I think that the curtains to cover the problem was a good last minute solution- (and I'm sure that similar last minute cover ups have happened on real HGTV shows in the past- so it wasn't all that far fetched). It wasn't as bad as the judges made it out to be.

I have to agree with the judges: Luca and Bex had the weakest room. Glad to see Luca go. Not only was he the most annoying of the bunch (now Kris can take that honor), but he was difficult to work with. I felt sorry for Bex immediately- and I honestly feel that she'd have been around longer if she hadn't been paired with Luca. Not that she didn't make mistakes, but if she had been paired with someone easier to work with, I think she would have thrived and we would have seen some really good ideas.

Is that everyone?

Over all, aside from the drama (which I'll admit, always annoys me a bit) I found this to be an enjoyable challenge and really showed just how talented this year's designers are.

We were posting at the same time! I agree about Brittany and Mikel having the best room. I would have liked to see more of them and less of the drama between Miera and Kris.

TQ, I was horrified when I saw the mess Danielle had made of the wallpaper and the results. I didn't see every moment of the show - my A/C unit conked out and I had someone here replacing the unit last night so was preoccupied sitting in my 93 degree house - so I'm not sure if it was just applied incorrectly or what happened. But, it was a hot mess and I thought for sure she'd go home. I think the thing that saved her was that she's been so good on the previous weeks. GG's little stomp over to the space was so fake.

Hillari doesn't know how to accessorize - it's been apparent in every single challenge she does. No sense of scale, IMO.

This episode was better than I thought it was going to be. Like many others I truly loved the mirrored wall and there were other touches in some of the rooms that were quite appealing.

Perhaps my t.v. screen didn't show the true color of the furniture but on mine it looked like pea soup with acid yellow thrown into the pot. I'd have preferred the red, but do admit the overall effect was good.

I will watch the rerun of this show so I can get a better look at things when I'm not distracted.

Corvette Lady... that happens sometimes. More opportunities to dish about the episode!

I forgot to mention Hilari. I guess I've kind of written her off as one that is not really a standout either way and will probably go soon enough.

Doodles: good luck with the AC- that is one thing you do NOT want to do without!

Yeah!!! 1 down, 1 to go!!! I'm glad Luca is gone, arrogant with a bad attitude, NOW if they get rid of Kris the show would be so much more enjoyable, he may be a decent decorator, but I wouldn't work with him, period. He is a immature ***!

Thanks TQ - it's nice and cool in here now, and you're so right - with our humidity it was feeling about 103 or so.

I was ready to see Hillari go the first challenge when she insisted on putting that teensy t.v. on the wall and said she couldn't do without a t.v. However, the next one I'd like to see go is Kris.

I also enjoyed most of the rooms. I was glad Danielle didn't get sent home for the wallpaper faux pas because she seems to have talent. I think Rachel and Britany are serious contenders.

I like the tone of this year's competition much better. The focus is more on design and less on drama, even though it is still part of the equation. The judges' comments are more direct and less mean. I think David is doing a good job wearing the host and mentor hats. He gives the designers explicit, constructive advice since he has so much experience in both design and explaining his vision on camera.

I thought most of the design was good, but is it me? I was on overload with all the silver/black patterened wallpaper. I did like the reception area but it totally reminded me of my dentist's office back in the 80's except without all the mauve, LOL.

Me too on being sorry that Bex went but happy that Luca went because he was just oh-so annoying and IMO lacking in talent.

And I agree about Stanley not deserving to win but Brittany did. And Rachel still stood out, IMO. I could see her as the winner this season.

I was LOL at Miera and her partner's dynamic. He totally acted like a bratty kid and she his mom. Kudos to her for standing her ground with him and working it out so that the design didn't suffer. I think both of them deserved special mention for that alone.

But if you watch the clip of next week, Miera has another verbal sparing match with Danielle, who has seemed really easy to get along with so far. Maybe I have misjudged Kris somewhat.

Amazing what anyone can do with an unlimited budget - thank you, mile-a-minute-product/showroom-placement shots!

I always find DS is less about design than about the designers having their own "moments." I get that they each have to shine individually even in a paired or group challenge, but I think with so little time for these projects there's no time to really hash out a cohesive design in which each designer's contribution is both germane to the overall design AND a successful representation of their own aesthetic.

I see an Antonio-type win for Stanley, as others have already called this season. The desk was lovely but waaaaaayyyyy too small. I'd have put in a huge glass rectangle top supported by metal x-bracing - that would both shine and always show off Kris Jenner's entire outfit & shoes when she's sitting behind the desk!

That desk wasn't my favorite, either. Thought she requested an office with a seating area - not a living room/lounge with an afterthought of an office area.

Stanley wasn't my choice for the win but what do I know? Feels like tptb have a hidden agenda each year WRT the type of DS they're looking for -

JMHO.

My first thought when Kris K chose black/gray/silver/white for her office space was because she didn't want to get a lot of different colors that did not relate to each other, ie: The first episode.

This is just my opinion.
